Megstiel Mafia For Life

1. Oh man. I actually wasn’t super into megstiel when I first started getting unironically into spn. And then, of course, I followed @autisticandroids and my eyes were opened to the truth. Now I’m like. If the world is against megstiel then I am against the world. If there is one megstiel it is me. If there are no megstiels I am dead. Etc etc.

2. My FAVORITE thing about megstiel is that it is, quite simply, so extremely funny and so extremely sad at the same time. I LOOOOOVE how meg is in love with cas and cas is in love with dean. Its epic it’s tragic its fucking Shakespearean. But it’s also more complicated than that, because cas genuinely likes meg. Loves her, even. It’s just that he can never be wholly satisfied in that relationship because he is obsessed with dean. It makes me NUTS.

3. My unpopular opinion about megstiel is like. This is somewhat related to my feelings on every non-deancas ship but I REALLY don’t care for it when people act like meg is just temporary and will eventually fall to the wayside when dean gets his head out of his ass. Like I enjoy the tragic aspect where she’s in love with a guy who is obsessed with someone else, no matter how much he loves her back, but. That doesn’t mean that what meg and cas have is temporary, AND, furthermore, it isn’t any less important. So like. My hashtag unpopular megstiel opinion is that I think it could be endgame had meg not died in s8. I think that megstiel endgame could be fun, even. I think it slaps. What I’m saying is what if cas is road-tripping in the empty post 15x18 (presumably to get back to dean) and he reconnects with meg. Perhaps they even kiss. What I’m also saying is that one post 15x18 fic where cas is happily dating meg in heaven has so many rights.

I’ve been thinking about organizing some type of event for Megstiel, and I wanted to see how many people would be interested, and how they’d want to contribute to decide what kind of event it could be (for now, my idea is a gift exchange, but with an open list of prompts for anyone to participate with extra fanworks or without needing to sign up for mutual gifts).

Here’s a survey with a few questions. It includes an open one for any suggestions you guys can think of at the end.
