Grey eyes settled on the direction of the voice, their limited vision only allowing them to see a blurred blob of colour, their eyes not quite focused. "Rusty, sir," the answered, they didn't know if they were in danger but the man had grabbed them for getting too close so they figured it was best to placate him, "he's a german shepherd, someone grabbed him and ran off."
There was already one trespasser. To think that there was a second and a dog? That unsettled his spirit in the worst way. It was a good thing that he didn't immediately assume the worst and get to attacking. The people that he faced off against on a regular basis would tell you that he Fontana wasn't someone you 'accidentally' come across. "Did you piss them off? Why would a stranger take your dog?"
Alderâs world narrowed to the illuminated rectangle of the phone screen. The scent of coffee and chocolate faded into the background, the distant murmur of other patrons dissipated into a meaningless hum. All that remained was the grid, a pristine, sterile battlefield of black lines and white squares, and the warm, solid presence of Nico beside him.
He watched Nico's finger move across the glass, a dark, decisive instrument tracing paths of pure logic. The digit wasn't just pointing; it was conducting an orchestra of numbers, revealing harmonies and dissonances that Alder couldn't yet perceive. He saw the lines and columns, the intersecting paths that eliminated possibilities until only one truth remained. It was beautiful. It was a language as complex and elegant as any faerie cant, built not on metaphor and magic, but on absolute, unassailable law.
A subtle shift occurred in Alder's mind. The restless, star-faring energy of the Sidhe, the part of him that sought patterns in the fall of a leaf or the currents of the wind, began to still. For the first time in a long while, he wasn't trying to impose a meaning onto the world; he was trying to find the one that was already there. The grid was a universe with its own strict, unyielding physics, and he was a humble student, ready to learn its rules.
He leaned in closer, the space between them shrinking until their shoulders almost touched. He could feel the warmth radiating from Nico's arm, a steady, grounding presence that anchored him in this small, mortal moment. He could smell the faint, clean scent of Nico's cologne, a masculine aroma that was both comforting and intoxicating. The age gap, which had been a source of abstract fascination, now felt like a tangible, electric current. Nico was the teacher, the experienced guide, and Alder was the eager, slightly awestruck pupil. He felt a strange, heady mix of vulnerability and excitement, a sense of surrendering himself to a process, to a person, in a way he never had before.
"Yes," Alder breathed, the word holding both understanding and revelation. "The lines converge. They create a cage, and the only thing that can fit inside is the 3." He looked up from the screen, his eyes holding ancient depth and youthful wonder, meeting Nico's. "It's not about finding the answer. It's about proving there is no other answer."
A slow, appreciative smile spread across Alder's face. He was seeing Nico in a new light, not just as a handsome, intriguing man, but as a master of a craft he was only just beginning to comprehend. There was a quiet power in this logic, a strength that was as compelling as any physical prowess. He wanted to know more, to understand the intricacies of this world, to see the way Nico's mind worked, to witness the quiet satisfaction of a puzzle solved.
He reached out, his fingers brushing against Nico's, a fleeting, electric touch. "What's next?" he asked, leaning closer. "Show me another pattern. Show me how you think." He was no longer just learning Sudoku. He was learning Nico. And it was a lesson he was determined to master.
Sudoku was deceptively simple yet deeply confounding at the same time. Once you know what you're doing, it gets easier to navigate the waters. However, until you get comfortable at that point, it's like looking at a whole bunch of jibberish and nonsense. That's the way it was for him when he first started, and he loved logic puzzles. The fact that he was actively able to teach someone else the ways of the puzzle showed just how far he came along. He was still working his way through the Extreme territory, but something like this was simple.
He did make sure to go slow and point out the things that he was talking about as he was talking about them. There would be no point in explaining everything if Alder never got the first point he was trying to make. He tried to present the information in a way that the other could understand. As far as he could tell, everything was going swimmingly. He looked like he was getting the concepts. The fact that there were so many numbers already filled in definitely helped the accentuate 'whys' and 'hows' of the puzzle. You can't repeat numbers. That was the golden rule.
"Precisely. One box, one answer. Every answer makes the next box just that much easier until you've finished the whole thing."
That was the thing about logic puzzles that he loved. There was clear and concrete information and answers. There was no room for interpretation or extra possibilities. Everything was cut and dried in a way he would always appreciate.
"Next, huh? Well, since you seem to get the basics, I could do a Normal-level, and you can see if you follow along?"
đ   ⸝   While there would be some level of satisfaction to be had in watching Benton bomb out in the ring, Ian doubted said satisfaction would prove anywhere near as gratifying as taking down the man himself. It was an unfortunate thing that beneath the expensive suits and somewhat slimy demeanour Benton was dragging around some serious beefiness that had certainly caught Ian off guard once or twice or thrice. He could still remember the breath being strangled out of him as his neck was constricted by those thick anacondas Benton was calling arms - made him fall right out of bed too when he woke up in a completely different room after blacking out.
Ian could respect Benton not letting him tap out.
âGood to have you on hand if their balls need a good polish?â Ian jeered, smiling into the rim of his beer bottle as he quieted himself with a mouthful of fairly impressive alcohol. Damn drink still tasted like it was hiding something from him - some ingredient too expensive and complicated for Ian to appreciate when he was swishing it about between his cheeks before swallowing it down with a hearty gulp. âHow many more matches tonight?â
Not that he was anywhere near eager to leave. Chances like these were more common now that he was friends with someone like Harry Benton, but he could only find the time, effort and strength of will to endure Benton's shenanigans so often. Also a part of him didn't want Benton to think he was just keeping him around for his money, even if it was an undeniable perk of their relationship. The raunchy sex on occasion didn't hurt either - well, not often.
Harry was always more than ready and willing to take Ian on, semi-professional versus casual. Getting to throw Gallagher around was all in good fun, after all. If he truly wanted to hurt his best friend, he was sure they wouldn't actually be best friends anymore, and that would be a major shame. Who else would he annoy to the ends of the Earth and back? He stayed in the gym as much as he did for personal aesthetics as much as it was for bothering Ian. He couldn't exactly knock the guy out with a sleeper or slam him down and trap him under his weight if he was the size of a stick. That just wasn't enjoyable or realistic for either party.
"I don't get down like that. I don't need to suck up to anyone in a suit to get what I want. I did give them your number, though, since I know they have a thing for helping out those in need. You should be getting a call from them soon." He returned the jeer right back to Ian with a smile on his face before taking a tiny sandwich and popping it in his mouth. That was the way their dynamic worked. One wasn't going to have the upper-hand for too long before the other took it back. Looking at the schedule..... "It's around the middle of the show, so there's about four or five more matches to go. Why? Don't tell you're bored already."
While it was admirable for Ian to not want his bestie to think he was only using him for the money, Benton knew that was a major perk of being in his circle. He liked to spend the money he had. It was just a ingrained character trait for him. He always made sure the scales balanced in other ways, just maybe not monetarily all the time. Ian was well aware of just how deep he could get in his bag of tricks when it came to getting his payback. Behind his sweet smile and ample biceps was a twisted mind ready to entangle Gallagher at a moment's notice.
"Oh your bad?" Nyjah can't help the laughter he can't seem to suppress. "Hey now I'll watch but I ain't trying to star. You know I'm dyin' first." He's not really into gore and he always freaks himself out that he'll look out the window and see a scary face there looking back. "Yeah I ain't lookin' to be in the next First 48 episode." Nyjah shakes his head as he lets his gaze drop to assess the other. Of course he likes what he sees. Who wouldn't? He collects himself as he follows alongside Dante.
"You wanna put me in the ring? I could scrap." Nyjah doesn't know anything about form beyond videos he's watched about the very man next to him. "I put my fightin' days behind me. Used to put my mama through hell so I'm reformed." He can still hear her voice screaming down the neighbourhood calling his name.
"Oh so you know what sort of spread we're gettin' tonight." Nyjah had pointedly not eaten anything beyond his coffee this morning. "One and only." Nyjah insists with a grin as he opens the door and holds it open for Dante. "You don't think so? I don't know about that Dante had to fight my coworkers to get to interview you."
"Really? You think you'd die first? I would've thought that reporter brain of yours would carry you at least two or three bodies. Don't tell me you're the type to just lay down and die." Of course, there was that classic horror movie trope, but Dante knew he was a fighter. Getting taken out first would just ruin his image in the worst ways. If he absolutely had to be the first victim, he was making sure to at least injure his attacker to make it a bit easier for the others. "I'll make sure not to tell them that you never lit up the room, then."
"You definitely give off street scrapper vibes. Like you'd carry around brass knuckles in case someone's mouth got too slick." As far as he knew, the federation was always looking for talent. If the reporter was ever serious about bruising his knuckles, he was sure the contract people would be more than happy to work with him. That'd surely be a hell of a story to cover.
Dante most definitely knew about the spread, and he was more than happy to give recommendations if he needed to. He gave the other's shoulder a squeeze as thanks for the door before letting out a laugh. "No offense but I'm calling bullshit on that. There's no way I was at the top of the list."

muse: eric perkins // "the party boy" status: open
"If you think this is wild, just wait until we get to the after-party!" Eric had to get pretty much right next to the other's ear to be able to heard even by himself. The music was blaring off the walls, and the lights were strobing like nobody's business. It was a full-on rave at this point, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He wrapped his arm around the other's neck to make sure they stayed hooked and didn't get swept away in the dancing crowds. "Honestly surprised you've been able to hang this long!"
Nyjah keeps staring at his text thread with Dante to see if he's here. Instead he's terrified by the knock on his window and he immediately drops his phone and brings his hands up. Oh shit. Obviously it's Dante. Nyjah laughs as he collects his phone from the floor. Real good second impression clearly. He opens the door once he sits back up and gets out. "You scared the fuck out of me." Nyjah accuses softly as he puts his phone in his pocket and grins over at Dante.
"Damn I really thought I was going to have to beat ass." Nyjah rubs his hand across his face as he tries to calm the steady race of his heart. He can blame it on the knock on his window and not the way he shamelessly looks Dante over and he looks good. Just like he had during their interview and after and all the times over the weekend he thought of him.
"This is your spot?" Nyjah glances as he walks alongside the other towards the restaurant. It's small and Nyjah knows they're always the best places. "You bring journalists here often Dante?" Nyjah can't wipe the amusement off of his face as he asks. It's in his nature to ask questions that could have many different answers. Nyjah would be interested in them all.
He didn't necessarily mean to scare the man.....but he couldn't lie and say that it wasn't funny to see his reaction. Whatever he was focusing on, he must've really been sunk in. "My bad." He takes a step back out of the door's path once he sees it opening. "Guess you aren't a huge fan of horror movies, huh? Bet you would've been clear across the field if you had the room to." This was certainly one of those 'hey, remember when,' moments that get brought up every once in a while.
"That's definitely something I wanna see, by the way. You look like the type to try and go for the throat right from the jump." Given his career in the ring was how their paths even crossed in the first place, he figured it was more than fair to give something of a slight 'assessment'. He believed everyone had the capability to get into it if the time came. Whether they had the natural affinity for it was a different story, though.
The closer they got to the building, the more they could smell what was cooking inside. The fact that he was coming here tonight made his decision to eat light throughout the day worth it. "Yep. Best barbecue in the city. Hands down. It just so happens you're the first one to experience this. None of the others in your field would probably give a damn if I did."
Kyree blinks at the other to make sure that it is in fact real. Once he's shaken off the nerves he can't help but smile. Kyree has interviewed many stars on the radio before but this meeting makes his inner child go insane. There's no way he'd believe him right now. "I know. That's what I said but the BBC was not interested in my pitch." He has more pull now he might be able to get what he wants should he find himself in a conference room with his boss. "You don't even want to know. Look." Kyree shamelessly pulls out his phone to show him one too many throw back pictures. "Bed sheets. They're vintage now, surely." He should certainly feel shame. Embarrassment at least. "You must get this a lot." Kyree grins, "But you don't look sick of it."
"Maybe you should try your hand again. Wrestling's had something of another surge in recent months." The man had been in this position countless times before from his younger years all the way up to now. He'd always loved meeting his supporters and seeing their auras light up around him. He wasn't egotistical enough to believe he was the center of their universe (in anymore), but still. To know that he could have a measurable impact on someone like this wasn't something he took lightly. Taking a look at the photos, he couldn't help the grin that spread on his face. "Adorable. I'm sure you thought you were invincible." He did shake his head, though. "I wouldn't be here if I'd got sick of it. The interactions with the people remind me why I've loved the sport for so long in the first place. Haven't lost my spark yet."
Nyjah watches him go and does his best not to say nothing bird brained as he gathers his things. His stomachs all in knots thinking about Sunday as if he's never gotten dinner with another human being in his life. He's not trying to act too forward so he waits until Saturday evening to text Dante for the address. Nyjah also certainly told his friends he was skipping Sunday for something work related. Dante is certainly work related. Isn't he?
He thinks about sharing anything sincere about himself with the other man. Nyjah's getting ready in the mirror as he thinks about what Dante might ask him. He's not always the best at sharing about himself because he's just so used to being the one asking questions. He finishes getting ready spitting into the sink and spraying cologne on himself. Is it presumptuous? Nyjah doesn't think so. He's never been asked out after an interview before. He thinks the intentions here are very clear.
At least he hopes.
Nyjah drives to the restaurant and applauds himself for not texting Dante more than he needs to. He'd been thinking about it the entire time since the interview but he was trying to play it cool. At least not look too eager. He waits in his car like a freak looking for Dante.
This might seem like something out of the ordinary for Dante, but he was curious to see where something like this could go. He liked the vibe that Nyjah gave him throughout their interview and post-interview talks. It was beyond obvious to him that the man was into him. So worst comes to worst, this would be a night out with food involved. He didn't foresee things flying off the rails, but he wouldn't be him if he didn't keep that possibility in the back of his mind.
He was a tad surprised that the other waited for the night before to text him, but he didn't take offense to it. He figured he was just busy. He was sure he had loads of interviews lined up for months out. He seemed like that kind of guy. The location he sent him was a 'restaurant' in the sense you could sit and eat and be served. However, it was far more a hole in the wall BBQ spot that he's been coming to for years. He knew the menu like the back of his hand.
He pulled into the lot to park and, given the fact that it was as late as it was into the night and how there was rarely ever a 'rush', he figured Nyjah'd gotten there before him. He exited his own car and goes up to the other's before knocking his knuckles on the window. "Comfortable in there?" He says outside the glass.
Empty grey eyes darted around as they felt their neck grabbed, instinctively reaching to the back of his neck to try and get the stranger to let go as he lifted them. "I'm blind! I was looking for my dog," it was the truth, someone had grabbed the leash of his guide dog and ran off with him, the green haired young man had gotten lost while trying to find him.
When people tend to generally leave you to your business, you develop a good sense of when someone's in your area and when someone wasn't. It was almost like a literal disturbance in the Force that he could feel. He looked over the other and didn't register as an immediate threat. They didn't have nearly enough stature for that. "What's your dog's name?" The way he asked sounded as if it was a threat, though it wasn't....for the moment.

"I can't believe I'm talking to you." Kyree can't help his flushes his face feels. It's like this worship has all had meaning. He wonders if he's annoying him but he can't seem to stop his mouth and his brain to mouth filter is turned securely off. "I tried to run a segment on my radio show about fantasy wrestling." He sighs wistfully remembering it. "Wish I'd met you then so I could have had you call in and save my segment."
"I can assure you that this is completely real." He couldn't help but smile a bit at the other's reaction. Even though he'd gotten it countless of times in the past, it never got old to him. He was a living legend to some people. He's seen all kinds of personalities and approaches over the years. Kyree would have to go above and beyond a great deal to throw him off his game. "Color me surprised. People usually love to talk about the sport. I'd have loved to call in for a few minutes. Did you ever have any games or anything of the like?"
There was a glimpse of something in the other's featuresâ Sebastian couldn't quite put a finger on it, but it was definitely there, in the slight twitch of his eyes. Was it disbelief? Was it mockery? Hell, for a man that took pride in his ability to read other people, the shop owner surely fumbled an opportunity to read the other man further. "I don't assume you would want to make decisions on your own" he does say after a long pause, almost missing the other's words once his curiosity and hiperfixation had taken his attention span for the last couple seconds.
"This big man does sound like the source of my woes soâ" the man shrugs, taking a deep breath before he notices someone standing at the door, trying to check if it was open. They tug at the handle, knock twice, and eventually leave. "â whatever instructions they give you... This store might not look like much but I do want to keep it open, y'know? Sentimental value and all that shit" he crosses his arms over his chest once more, muscles swelling from the motion. He was, indeed, pretty attached to this store. It had put his brother through college and made him a small reputation in the neigborhood. "And if you want to take something worth your time..." he nods towards the charms and pretty things on a cabinet at his right. "Some of those are pricey. I believe there's some silver rings and earringsâ" he pauses, green eyes landing on the man's features. "âprobably worth more than sixty bucks from the register if you can find someone to melt 'em down".
The deal that was proposed didn't seem like it was too bad of a deal, if you were to ask Oliver. It always helped to have informants on the inside that could pass along direct and reliable information. He didn't get the sense that Sebastian was dumb enough to try and fuck them over, so this could very well be beneficial for both sides of the equation. Oliver sent the text over and was waiting to see what the response would be.
"You don't get to be the kingpin by being 'easy to work with'." That sounded like it would be counterintuitive, but it truly wasn't. In this game, you have to be more ruthless and cutthroat than all the others. If you don't, you'll never get anywhere. Worst comes to worst, you'd end up six feet under. At the mention of the offer, he did look over. "Couldn't hurt to look, I suppose." And go over to look was precisely what he did.
"okay, man, i get having standards. i really do. but shouldn't you be more worried about us actually winning than what your partner for one night, who you'll probably never see again after this, is wearing?" otto asked, brow raised. he knew big league wrestling was half pageantry. everything polished, everything camera-ready. but it felt like the aesthetic was the only thing adam actually gave a shit about rather than the part where they actually beat somebody up. that was the whole reason otto was there. he let the jab about his wallet roll off his back with a shrug. the guy wasn't exactly wrong. "how about a new pair of jeans, then?" he suggested, figuring he could at least wear them to work after this was all over. "or cargo pants, or whatever. just actual pants and nothing so tight it cuts off my circulation."
there was a pause in the conversation before adam let out a laugh that seemed to come straight from the depths of his gut. was he laughing in the guy's face, or was he more laughing at what was being proposed? the world may never know. "you might have to worry about stuff like that, but I don't." to a man like him, his skills were never in question. he was looking at things from a larger scale than just whoever was unfortunate enough to try and face off against him. "you're really committed to that look, aren't you? what is it you're even supposed to be going for?"
A wave of warmth, potent and intoxicating, washed over Alder, so much stronger than the heat from the ceramic mug in his hands. It was the simple, unaffected grace of Nico's acceptance. A man of deep focus and quiet intensity, so effortlessly willing to share a piece of his world, a piece of the quiet discipline that made him who he was. Alder felt a surge of something dangerously close to adoration.
A genuine, unguarded smile bloomed on Alderâs face, a sight that transformed his handsome features from merely striking to truly luminous. The subtle, ever-present melancholy of the Sidhe dissolved in the face of Nico's casual generosity. He wasn't being offered a lesson; he was being offered an invitation.
"Thank you," Alder said, his words a low murmur meant only for Nico. He leaned back slightly, creating a small space between them, but his gaze remained locked with Nico's, the air between them charged still. "I have a feeling I'll be a terrible student. I'm more accustomed to⌠intuitive leaps. Patterns that reveal themselves in chaos, not in neatly ordered boxes."
He was laying himself bare, in a way. A hint of the vast, otherworldly nature of his own mind, a mind that navigated by starlight and ancient poetry, not by the clean, satisfying logic of numbers. It was a quiet test, a subtle offering of his own strange rhythm, to see how it would mesh with Nico's steady, human beat.
Alder watched Nico take another sip of his mocha, the dark, rich liquid against his lips. He found himself tracing the line of Nico's jaw with his eyes, the rugged strength of it, the way the evening light caught the faint shadow of stubble. The age gap, which had been a source of abstract curiosity, now felt like a tangible, grounding force. Nico was a man, solid and settled in his own skin. Alder, for all his ancient soul, felt like a youth in comparison, filled with a restless, searching energy that only seemed to quiet in Nico's presence.
"I'm ready," Alder said, his voice soft but full of an eager, almost breathless anticipation. He set his own mug down, a deliberate act of turning his full attention to the man before him. "Show me where to begin."
"You don't have to worry about that. There'll be plenty of time for intuition once you get to the more advanced puzzles. You might get them wrong. You might surprise yourself and get them right. As long as you follow the basics, you'll be in good shape no matter the difficulty level." He didn't have a single reason to think that Alder couldn't get the hang of the number puzzle. They had more than enough time to learn. And cosmically enough, a small independent coffee shop was one of the best places to do something like this. No overbearing music. Few customers. You couldn't go wrong.
He pulled up a fresh Easy puzzle and flipped his phone around so that Alder could see the screen. "Like I said, the goal is to fill each box with 1 through 9 with repeating in any line or column. You see how most of these numbers are already filled in, you don't have to worry about those. They're to guide you in figuring out the empty spots."
He didn't expect to be giving Sudoku lessons when he woke up this morning, but he wasn't opposed to it in the least bit. In fact, it's one of the better ways he could think to spend his time on. If Alder ended up picking up the skill, he could take 100% of the credit.
"My advice is to focus on one box at a time. See what you have and what you're missing. You can tell you're missing a 3, right?" He then began to use his finger to point out on the screen the corresponding lines and columns and how they correlate to the eventual needed answer position.
Nyjah doesn't think Dante wants to see the first draft of his interview questions. He'd been seriously knee deep in articles and exclusives and even gone behind paywalls with the company credit card to find every morsel he thought would give him a leg up. Nyjah liked standing out among journalists. He wants to be better than all of them. Sometimes it felt too easy but he thinks the universe is just on his side. Cosmic level shit that makes him so shiny.
"You feel like I've got the upper hand?" Nyjah can't help but ask out of curiosity as his gaze zeroes in on his mouth. "Play you? Wouldn't benefit me to play you." He smiles as he says it cause it's not about to turn into a thing. Nyjah's not that type. There's no big expose coming out. "But I can share some with you."
Nyjah can hear Dante's breath and he suppresses a shiver. He still can keep it together. Nyjah's a professional. A date and time has him filtering out possible prior engagements but Nyjah would move anything around for a chance to see Dante again. He'll keep that embarrassing shit to himself. Nyjah smiles slow and sweet as he nods. "I can handle that and no other dudes just yours. I'll text you so you have my number. You can send me the address."
He might not want to see the first draft, but he was definitely interested to see how the final product would come out. He was more than sure there was gonna be splicing and dicing whatever he said to make it look how they wanted. Journalists were gonna journalist every time. If he had thinner skin, he might get offended by it. Thank goodness he didn't.
"You know more about me than I know about you. It's a bit unbalanced." He didn't think Nyjah was some underhanded asshole, but he wasn't about to say that he liked the scales being out of whack. He liked playing on even playing fields and with all the cards in his hand that he could get. It was just something about him that'd stuck with him since he was a kid.
He didn't for a second expect that Nyjah would turn down his offer. There was clearly something of a spark happening between them. If he didn't feel the same, then he was more than welcome to turn down the offer. However, that wasn't happening. "Sounds like we got a plan, then." His lips pull into a smile before he starts backing up toward the door. "I'll wait for your text, then, Nyj."

muse: emilio fontana // "the crazed and unstable" status: open
"You really thought it was a smart idea to trespass here?" Anybody that knew anything about Emilio knew that he wasn't exactly all there in the head. There was a reason why everyone took a wide berth when it came to him. So one had to wonder why someone would invade his own personal space to the point where he reached down, grabbed the other by the back of the neck, and literally lifted them off their feet. This was a (surprisingly) lucid moment for the man.
"I was interested." Nyjah says instead of yes of course I was up all night thinking about you. That'd be a little forward. Too much for someone he's supposed to be maintaining a mostly professional relationship with. No other athlete has caught his eye the way that Dante has. He might have read a little too much and then meeting him in person and connecting the two has been eye opening to say the least.
Nyjah knows that his allotted time with the other is just that. Scheduled and blocked out. He doesn't have all day to do whatever this is with Dante even though he would like to. Still neither of them have left yet and Nyjah's got no issue pushing on this tether that he can feel between them. That can't just be in his head. His heady, warm gaze lands on Dante's face as he smirks at the number being brought down.
"You got somethin' else you wanna talk about?" Nyjah asks curiously as he latches on to Dante's words. He feels like he can pull him in despite being the one stepping closer to him. Obviously he's so fine and what's the worst that can happen? A messy hook up in the green room?
Nyjah stands from in front of him his own chest brushing against Dante's crossed arms. "I can handle it. Why don't we prove it?"
âYouâll have to tell me some of your favorite ones, then. I can only *imagine* the kind of shit they made up about me.â By no means would Dante ever say he was perfectâŚ..but he knew how the business worked. Once youâre in the line of fire, it doesnât matter who you are, what you do, or anything like that. A story would be either found or crafted. Reading what other people thought about their perception of him was sure to get a solid ten-minute laugh going minimum.
At the question, his tongue passes over his lips for a second before smiling. âYou seem to know so much about me already. Itâs only fair we even the playing field and deep dive into your history. I donât like when other people have advantages over me for too long. For all I know, you could be trying to play me for my darkest secrets.â He didnât for a single second believe that was the case.
With Nyjah so close, itâs easy to lean in and get right next to his ear. He pauses for a moment to take a breath before putting the offer out. âI know a good spot we could get some food and talk off-camera. You can handle Sunday around 10, right? Or are you gonna be busy investigating some other dudeâs dirty laundry?â
