Pressing his forehead against the door, Beau mutters a curse as he makes another futile attempt at opening his front door. It doesn’t budge. “Give me a fucking break,” He groans, banging his head against the door in exasperation. Somewhere between the dive bar he’d been drinking at for the night and arriving home at his apartment, he’d misplaced his keys and found himself locked out. He lifts his head off the door, peering down the street at the sound of an unfamiliar voice. His brows furrow, taking in the sight of the man stumbling towards him and offering to pick his lock.
“I’m good,” said Beau, taking a step backwards and looking up at his building. There was no fire escape, no ledge for him to climb onto and attempt to jostle the latch on one of the windows and no light coming from his neighbour’s apartment. He blew out a breath, resigning himself to the fact that he was going to have to crash on somebody’s couch until the bar reopened in the morning. “You normally charge people to break into their apartments?” He casts the dark-haired man a wary smile, either he was an exceptional thief or a terrible one.
ℍ𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 was 'good' sounded like a fantastic joke. Lee wasn't into complicated words, but he could say that the other lacked congruency... or maybe just wouldn't admit needing help from a drunk stranger "'m pretty sure 'ou were 'bout to attack that door" he stated, trying to keep his voice even, but the chuckle was quite obvious under his breath. He was obviously not good about saying one thing while feeling another..... at least not while drunk. Or under other very specific circumstances. A good part of them, to be honest.
He leaned on the wall, to balance himself. "No... I usually pick my own locks... 'nd rich folk's ones" his smile was just shameless "And I swim in their pools" he smiled. Well, of course, there was a pool at Oasis, right next to his door, but there was no fun in just doing things that were allowed to. "Are you oh so 'bsolutely sure that you don' need my help?" he provoked, before taking a paper clip from his pocket and showing it off. "'or 're you sure you live here..?" his words were tangling here and there.
