My impression after listening to Confessions II is that it very much has the vibe of a sendoff or retirement album.

It has kitchen sink elements referencing sounds from all of Madonna's previous albums. When I see comments about some tracks being compared to others from previous albums I'm like... That's the entire point. It's a thesis statement about her entire career from Sidewalk Talk onwards.
