Ladies and Gentlemen, Friends and Neighbors… It is a mere few days before you go out to cast your votes in this next election and I thought I’d ask you for one last minute favor.
In any of the states that is proposing a Marriage Amendment (to define marriage as being only between one man and one woman) I URGE YOU TO VOTE AGAINST IT! VOTE NO!
Many states have already passed this hurtful and incredibly backward amendment, which place yet another hurdle in the way of our gay friends simply having their marriages recognized by the state.
Luckily a few states do recognize gay marriage, but they are but few.
My home state of Minnesota is one of the states where this amendment is trying to get passed. Gay marriage is not currently recognized in Minnesota, but if this amendment goes through it will become that much harder for it to happen in the future. I am disgusted by the fact that this amendment even exists. But I am trying to keep it together and not freak out all over the internet. So I will simply say this:
If you love the human race and believe that we all should have the same opportunities to be happy, to find love, and simply be who we are (and not be discriminated against for it) then I URGE you to VOTE NO on the Marriage Amendment.
