❝ THE MUTANT’S GIFT ❞

Blood Consumption: Soohyuk is fuelled by the blood of others.He needs to feed daily, unless he wishes to become weak and generally unhealthy. Although he can survive (just) on animal blood, human blood is preferred.(Group O if applicable). When he is hungry, his eyes glow a deep, crimson red, and he becomes irritable. When he activates his power, his face becomes demonic looking, his brow becomes enlarged, and in a permanent frown. His eyes also take on a bright, yellow hue. His teeth become deadly sharp, and his strength is nearly double that of a human. He is also much more fast, and has greater senses. (Mainly smell - the ability to sniff out his prey.)  

He is also semi-immortal, being he is immortal as long as he fills his quota of blood. He can heal faster than humans as well.

WEAKNESSES ;

01 : Soohyuk requires blood to survive. This can weaken him, if he cannot access blood of any sort, and either potentially kill him, or he’ll lose his mind, and become a killing machine. 

02 : His heightened senses can cause small noises to be rather painful. As he’s still adjusting, he is prone to migraines.

03 : He lacks self-control at the moment, and as such, has to be removed if blood is visible. He will become fixated, hypnotised even by it. 

04: Although he is technically immortal, he has many obstacles to overcome. Sunshine is painful on his skin if he’s exposed for more than 10 minutes. He doesn’t burst into flames, but rather large blisters and rash covers the infected area.

05: Soohyuk’s immortality is wholly dependent on his ingestion of blood - no blood, no immortality (no life, really.)

❝ THE MUTANT HIMSELF ❞

Soohyuk was born to normal parents, in the heart of New York, USA. His upbringing was rather boring. He didn’t particularly stand out in school, and although he was victim to his fair share of bullies, it was nothing he couldn’t handle. He was rather lonely during high school, with very few friends to be a teenager with.(in reality he had none, but there were one or two who were too polite to ignore him.) 

And so Soohyuk became a loner, to survive. However, loners don’t get lonely…and that was exactly what he was. At school he was no-one, and even at home, he blended in with the walls, and was more or less ignored by his parents. It wasn’t neglect per say. His parents were simply too busy to bother with their only son. He understood, he did. It didn’t hurt any less, but he could understand. Smoking became a habit by the time he was 16. Thankfully for him, he was incredibly smart, although it was hard to believe by his appearance. He rarely cut his hair, and usually had it slicked back, with a cigarette hanging between his lips, worn leather jacket and docs, with ripped jeans to accompany it. It was his own personal rebellion against the uniformity of his generation (or so he thought.)

His blood lust reared it’s ugly head one dusky afternoon. It was like all others, save the annoying name-calling coming from the school’s personal badass. Soohyuk was a master of specialised ignorance usually, with the ability to forget a person even existed, but for some reason…this boy was really, really getting under his skin. Soon enough a fist fight ensued. It was quick but brutal, each member bruised and sore. Soohyuk’s opponent’s lip had split, the crimson blood dripping fresh from the wound. Soohyuk couldn’t keep his eyes off the liquid, a new faction of his personality revealed. After blacking out momentarily, he woke up with a group of his classmates holding him down, each one looking terrified. Terrified of him. 

It wasn’t long till he was transferred to a new school. And another. Eventually, after the third incident, he stopped going altogether, and travelled the world, hitching from one corner of the US to the other. He was 19 when he arrived in Korea, his parent’s home country. Sleeping rough, and drinking even rougher… His appetite for blood was increasing. His appearance had changed also, his once dark eyes taking on a golden hue, his body becoming muscular and powerful. But it had a price. As his appetite grew, so did his senses. He could hear heartbeats as loud as his own, and it was driving him insane. 

One night, after a particularly rough feed, he found a leaflet for an Xavier’s. It was for people like him! For once, he felt relief. Happiness even. After searching, he found an application, and submitted.

❝ THE GUARDIAN’S GIFT ❞

guard·i·an

a defender, protector, or keeper.

myungjae is forced to cope with guardianship, in which he is compelled to protect two particular people: kim myungsoo, his twin brother, and celena ahn, a girl of whom he exceptionally owes. whenever they’re in danger, he snaps into guardian mode and dashes to their rescue. he shares their emotions, their feelings, their wounds and their problems — myungjae is an alternate version and blend of both of them, with his own personality attempting to force itself into the limelight as well.

he’s like a video game protagonist — his willpower is incredible. whenever he’s around myungsoo or celena, he’s immune to any forms of tempation — even any stemming from the ones he’s to protect. while around them, myungjae is able to endure great pain and psychological trauma, mostly due to the fact that he’s unable to surrender to any sort of conflict, no matter how inevitable his defeat is.

in order to protect efficiently, myungjae’s body and mind are built to adapt; his body is able to shift into any form or gain any power in order to defend who he’s supposed to, whether it’s growing rock-hard skin or the ability to shoot fire from his hands. this is out of his control, however, as his power has a mind of it’s own.

with enhanced condition, myungjae’s physical and mental prowess is beyond that of an average being. his body is exceptionally build to withstand pain and hones enough strength to be skilled in combat. he does little to maintain his constitution, but has a tendency to rely more on his physicality rather than his mental capabilities.

WEAKNESSES ;

it’s a curse. no one is able to pick their power, but at least they’re able to gain control over it as they grow older. but no matter how much time passes, no matter how much he trains, myungjae will never be able to control his ability. it’s another persona within him — an inner demon, of sorts. he gains a new personality and his entire demeanor becomes unrecognizable when his power kicks in and he loses all control of his thoughts, his movements, himself. while he is able to withstand an immense deal of pain and trauma, he feels the aftereffects later, in the form of a migraine or a sprained bone, and even if that isn’t too bad and his ability results in any injury healing quicker than average, myungjae isn’t superman — he has his limits, too, but his guardian form doesn’t know what they are. it’s easy for him to get carried away and be overwhelmed by determination, and if he’s caught off guard with a shocking situation, his spirit will break. while it might be beneficial to gain back his sober mind, his strength and defense weaken and he’s extremely vulnerable and unable to defend who he’s supposed to protect. his power is always activated. while his guardian persona isn’t active all the time, any time myungsoo stubs his toe or celena runs into something, he feels it. anytime myungsoo gets too hot or celena gets too hungry, he feels it as well — he’s connected to them, and even though he cannot read their thoughts, he’s able to depict their moods and emotions because he feels them, too. his power makes his relationships with celena and myungsoo incredibly personal, much to his dislike.

❝ THE GUARDIAN HIMSELF ❞

ONE |being born in japan was a dream come true for seven year old kim myungjae — his parents were traditionally normal and the only thing different about his family was his twin, kim myungsoo. they were inseparable at the hip, despite their conflicting personalities: myungjae’s aggressive and impulsive personality opposed that of the shy, timid myungsoo’s. it was an unlikely pair, as some would say, but the two were attached at the hip and the four of them together were absolutely perfect.

TWO | myungjae was eight when he first discovered that he was durable. it was one punch to his nose — the first one he’d ever experienced, thanks to a playground bully during recess — and the aggressor was bigger than him; the boy played recreational soccer while myungjae only played basketball in gym — but myungjae didn’t feel a thing. his nose never bled and the skin hadn’t bruised; after a few more hits, everyone grew concerned, but myungjae entered the principal’s office with no scratches ornamenting his skin at all.

it was then when myungjae discovered that he was different. something wasn’t right for him to not have felt pain, and up until then, he noted that he hadn’t ever really been sick nor critically injured — any wound he received would vanish in a few hours (which he always excused to be the magic of medicine). and it wasn’t like myungjae was a careful child; he was reckless and had no limits to what he did. he was the kid to climbed trees and loved to roll around in dirt and grit, not stay inside.

none of it added up, but his parents didn’t get much of a chance to question it.

THREE | the twins were nine years old and it was a bleak midwinter when they were in the car — myungjae doesn’t remember much about the event, except that it was grey and dark and he couldn’t tell whether or not it was day or night, but he does remember seeing a pair of headlights coming for them and his body automatically lurching over to move over his six-minute-older brother. it was then when his guardianship came in, but myungjae wouldn’t make the connection until a few months later.

he does remember the sirens and multi-colored lights, too — the men in uniform rushing to their car and he remembers pulling him and his brother out through the upside down window on his own, the shattered glass cutting into his palms and his knees while he tries to keep his brother away from it. he remembers the blank looks on his parents faces — the looks of confusion with a dash of terror permanently etched on their faces that would eventually turn into melancholic smiles at their funerals.

FOUR | they were left on their own.

orphanages were never kind; even though myungjae and myungsoo were surrounded by kids of a varied spectrum of ages, they were alone. for the first two weeks he watches and copes with the older kids bullying him and his brother, them both still trying to get over the shock of the reality of their new situations.

but once myungjae’s over that, that’s when he snaps. he faces the most brutal beating he’s ever received on that day, but did it in order that his brother wouldn’t get hurt. this was a routine for a month, and while his condition allowed him to mend his wounds quickly in order to prepare for the next, myungjae became even more attached to his twin and began to act as his guardian.

and that’s when it clicked: especially when he’s in the middle of his teenage years and he watches his twin freeze another boy’s arm and red blasts of energy emit from his own palms — and by the end of the week, myungjae and myungsoo were forced out of the orphanage.

FIVE | and into a sanctuary. ‘it’s perfect for people of your kind’ were the first words he heard when he was being enrolled into the institution and he, after a few months brimming with complaints and rebellion, came to accept the school as his new home.

he adjusts quickly after that.

SIX | the first time he thinks he falls in love, he realizes he hadn’t.

the second time is the same.

around the forth, he meets celena ahn and by this time, his attitude towards relationships is skewed and he takes it as another fling. but that’s when it lasts for four months. at the end of the third month, he’s caught with another girl and the event marks the end of their ‘honeymoon’ phase — stemming into a month of arguments and fights until they just have enough of it and with one final argument that could have potentially resulted in the duo burning the forest around the school down, they split.

and while myungjae repeatedly tells himself he isn’t in love with her, his power makes it to where he is. they’re connected — not in the same way he is with myungsoo, but for some reason his guardian feelings are seeping in and he’s bound to her.

he loathes it.

he hates the fact that whenever he’s around her his will to protect and watch over her spikes. he hates the fact that his heartbeat will speed up just a tad when they’re together and he hates the fact that he has to protect her.

but somehow, he still keeps up with her.

❝ THE PAPYROKINETIC'S GIFT ❞

Papyrokinesis is an ability to minipulate Paper.

Some people underestimate this ability ,because it’s paper.They are very much wrong.Ailee can defend herself by hardening and sharpening the paper with ease and attack the enemy.She could also generate paper.

Ailee also has the ability, Paper mimicry. She can turn her body into paper. Therefore, she travel with this form and enter small entrances.This makes it really handy for her to hide .

The last of her ability is to be able to construct objects with paper (weapons,armour,walls and shields etc.)

The best thing that Ailee can do with her power is that she will create large wings to make herself look like an Angel and she also fight by using her wings.

WEAKNESSES ;

01: Water will completely destroy the paper she controls. It will make the paper soggy

02: Fire is also a problem,because it will burn the paper,but as long as Ailee can keep the paper hardened, the resistance to the flames will heighten but not completely immune to it

03: Oil can make the paper stick together, so she will be immobile when she turns into paper and cancels her attacks.

❝ THE PAPYROKINETIC HERSELF ❞

Ailee was born in South Korea,but raised in Japan.Her moved there for better work. Ailees mother was a shop clerk and her father works at the factory near Tokyo.

As Ailee goes home from school, her mother will teach her origami to pass the time because ,she closes the shop at night.Ailees father usually goes home late at night.

Ailee will always have a smile on her face and is friendly to a lot of people and gained mamy friends. She tries to help her mother around the shop during the weekends. She helps by stocking the shelves and mopping the floors. When she’s not doing anything in the shop, she usually makes origami outside sitting on a bench.

As she grabs the next piece of paper, the paper began to float. Ailee eyes widened with shock.As the paper hovered it started to fold into a swan. Ailee was still shocked, but she liked it.

When they got home. Ailees mother made dinner and her father came home early. As they sat on the dining area, they began to eat their food. Ailees mother suddenly shouted with horror, then she pointed at Ailee and said that the skin on her face began to peel. Ailee started to touch her face and got piece of it in her hand, she felt it and she noticed that it was paper. Ailee then ran to her room and locked herself ever since. As the days went by, her parent tried everything to get her out of her room, but to no avail.The parents thought about what happened to her and they made a conclusion that she is a mutant,so they called Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

❝ THE EMPATH’S GIFT ❞

Empathy: the ability to discern, replicate and influence the emotions of any being. Taeyong—17, as he’s been assigned—is capable of reading emotions in any individual within a hundred foot radius of himself. This is not limited to people that he can see, hear or otherwise perceive through his traditional five senses, but denotes to a sixth sense that enables him to pick up even the most subtle of emotional shifts.

Combat Perception: In the barest sense, he may use his ability to his advantage in battle to read his opponents intentions (i.e. anger may be interpreted as a heightened sense of recklessness, with sadness having the opposite effect).

Emotion Manipulation: Otherwise known as Pathokinesis, this ability is limited by inexperience and lack of control. As of this writing, Taeyong may use the following influences—

Emotion Absorption: He may take the emotions of others into himself, though this serves no direct benefit to him.

Emotion Augmentation: Locked.

Emotion Inducement: Very limited, the effect is more like anemotional nudge.

Emotion Negation: Locked.

Empathic Conversion: Locked.

Empathic Projection: He may, through skin contact, share an emotion with someone else.

Psionic Inundation: The equivalent of a psychic attack, Taeyong may effectively overwhelm his chosen target in any emotion of his choosing via remote Empathic Projection. This can have the sometimes intended effect of turning a mutant’s own power against them, if their power hinges on conscious control.

Empathic Link: Locked.

Lie Detection: Works in a similar way as Combat Perception, withcertain emotions serving as flags to point to lies or truth. However, the relativity of truth to any given person makes this almost useless.

Psychometry: The ability to sense emotional residue (like imprints) attached to people, places or objects.

Social Cloaking: The ability to use his power to blend into most any situation, this is accomplished by molding his responses to match the emotions of those around him.

WEAKNESSES ;

Combat Perception and Lie Detection are weaker applications, with each requiring focus and the ability to discern the reactions of any individual to a certain emotion. One person may be rendered reckless by Anger, while another may simply be strengthened, while one man who lies may feel anxiousness, another may feel nothing at all. Lastly, if they’re not aware that they’re lying, there’s no way to detect it.

Each application of Emotion Manipulation carries a physical risk to Taeyong, as he’s directly affecting the emotions of others. Common side-effects include but are not limited to migraines, nosebleeds, loss of consciousness, memory gaps, self-inundation, and insanity.

Empathic Projection cannot be turned off. Coming into contact with any individual carries the certain risk of revealing his own emotional state or the state of those around him, which compromises his ability to hide the fact that he is a mutant. The only circumstance that this application works without contact is through Psionic Inundation.

The range of his Psionic Inundation is much shorter than his perception range; a mere twenty feet. The side-effects of Emotion Manipulation do apply to this power as well.

Currently, Taeyong is only able to dull his Psychometry abilities, and may easily be overwhelmed by the emotional residue of any place holding enough of it. For example, walking onto the scene of a massacre would put him in risk of being inundated with anything from fear to rage.

Social Cloaking is a moreso a technique using his ability to read people, and as such, can be rendered ineffective by knowledge or logic.

❝ THE EMPATH’S OCCUPATION ❞

Taeyong is a charge in the care of the church, after he was found unconscious on the streets of Busan. Without any sign of knowing his origins—where he’s from, what he’s doing in the city, or even what his true name is—the teenager has been delegated to caring for the grounds around the large building, spending his days working from morning to evening in the expansive cemetary on Sundays and the remainder of the week everywhere else. He doesn’t venture out much otherwise, but can be found from time to time indulging in a walk through the city at four in the morning.

❝ THE EMPATH HIMSELF ❞

I.

He remembers everything. Though Taeyong will be the first to say that his own reflection is a stranger to him, the memories of his life before his entrance into the city of Busan are seared into his memories, much like the ability to read the hearts of any person that crosses his path. Perhaps that was where his problems began—

All it took was two years for his life to fall to pieces.

At fifteen, his picture perfect family falls to pieces in the face of loving looks aimed over the dinner table. He can feel the love, the lust, while he picks at his plate. But it isn’t his mother that his father stares at—the women polishes off a glass of red wine without saying a word—it’s his sister, clad in the brightest of lipsticks and texting her boyfriend under the table.

Places, places, get in your places Throw on your dress and put on your doll faces.

It isn’t a fleeting feeling.

It threatens to consume him whole, until he leaves the table in a rush. The rest of the night is spent hunched over the toilet, emptying everything he’s eaten for the day. His fingers twitch whenever he’s near his father, his mind wanders in the presence of his sister.

His mother buys a flask to keep in her purse.

She doesn’t know who the object of her husband’s affections are, and Taeyong doesn’t know how to spit out the words. His sister loses her virginity to her boyfriend and spends the night crying when her pregnancy test comes up positive three times.

He rubs her back and stifles the urge to scream when dark eyes watch from the door. Love. Lust.

Sixteen. He convinces her to go to college abroad.

Everything falls apart.

Everyone thinks that we’re perfect. Please don’t let them look through the curtains.

II.

A snappish, moody teenager, Taeyong is controlled by his power; a victim to the plethora of emotions that overcome him when he isn’t paying attention. He doesn’t enjoy being touched, though it’s a habit to pick through the feelings of others and use them to gain a foot into vapid, superficial discussions that keep him sane.

For all the distaste he holds toward people, the need to remain close is engrained into him; the need to help the truly helpless captures him from time to time—an occurance where his anonymity works best—and if he has anything to spare, it’s time.
