this is in us terms and done in rounds. it also comes out to around 7 1/2 inches

3.75 hook (if you tend to stuff tightly go down a bit to prevent holes)

r1 - sc 8 in mr [8] r2 - (inc) round [16] r3 - (sc, inc) round [24] r4 to r10 - (sc) round [24] r11 - (dec, sc) round [16] r12 - (dec) round [8]

i recommend stopping here to stuff and add hair, eyes, and whatever else you need to add. after youre done make a hole in the center of the head and measure (i just use my finger). keep crocheting sc until the neck is around the size of the hole and finish off leaving a decently long tail. pull the tail through the center of the mr while inverting the neck like part through the hole.

~ arms (2) ~

sc 6 in mr and keep crocheting for around 12 rounds or until long enough. after finish off and stuff

~ legs (2) ~

r1 - sc 7 in mr [7] r2 - (inc) round [14] r3 to 4 - (sc) round [14] r4 - (dec) round [7] r5 to end - (sc) round [7]

keep crocheting until around round 8 to stuff the foot. to create the front of the foot focus on stuffing around where round 2 starts as it should naturally stick out. then crochet until round 15 or your preferred length (fyi they will look one round longer from joining the legs later). stuff and finish off the first leg here but dont finish off the second one as we'll continue the body from there.

~ body ~

so this is where it gets complicated as what you do will depend on various factors (tension, yarn, changes in body shape, etc.) so ill be giving general instructions for a flat body. it might take a few tries to find what exactly looks right just remember that the end count of stitches needs to be 1 or 2 less than the heads end count.

r1 - sc until where legs will meet, ch, sc 7, sc in part of ch, sc till end of round [16] r2 to 10 - (sc) round [16]

start stuffing the lower torso and change the start of the round to right before the arm on the back. you might also want to mark where the arms are going to be placed which will be attached with 3 sc in 2 rows.

r11 - sc until the arm placement, while going through a stitch on both the body and arm sc 3 in each stitch, dec, sc until 2 stitches before arm placement, dec, sc 3 adding arm, dec, sc until 2 before the end or round, dec [12] r12 - sc 3 when connecting the top of the arm to the body, sc until other arm, connect other arm with 3 sc, dec 3 in one [10] r13 - sc, dec, dec 3 in one, dec, sc till end [6] r14 to end - (sc) round [6]
