The LGBT+ Community, as a whole, has a few skeletons in its closet. When someone comes out of the closet, these stay in, and usually go to the grave with that person. However, there is one skeleton that deserves to come out of the closet.
When someone, who identifies as LGBT+ is discriminated against, we hate it, and we have a right to, as Homophobia, transphobia and other phobias related to the LGBT+ community deserve to be obliterated. What is worse, and this is the secret that we have kept well hidden, is the bullying and hate within the community. As a community, we should be standing together to fight for our rights and civil liberties, but we cannot do that effectively when we are too busy fighting amongst ourselves. For those people who are outside of our community, let me explain some things.
Gay and Bi-sexual Men are complete arseholes to each other, a lot worse than straight men.
Bisexual’s are treated like shit by everyone else within the LGBT+ community Because most people believe, they are only half like us. Guess what there is nothing wrong with them.
A-sexuals are treated like crap because “They aren’t human if they don’t want sex”. Guess what, they are human, just slightly more evolved.
A-romantics and Pansexuals are hated because “it’s just a politically correct way of saying ‘slut’”.
Gender Neutral/Fluid people are discriminated against because “they just can’t make their minds up”
Just to name a few. I am sorry but come on, we need to get our shit together. We make t-shirts that say “No Fats or Fems”. That is disgusting. We need to stand together and fight, not destroy ourselves. Get some maturity and class. One final note, if you are still in the closet, you have the right to be angry, depressed and/or anxious, but it doesn’t give you the right to be homophobic or out other people.
