Hello, everyone of the Tumblr RP community!

As I mentioned in my previous post…I’ve been really floored and touched by the response to my original intention to shut down RPThreadTracker. I’ve gotten plenty of extremely kind messages from so many of you saying that it’s been a critical part of your roleplay experience, and I’d be lying if I said that enthusiasm hasn’t helped rekindle my own for the project (and programming in general, really; 2020 has been a tough year…)

However, a number of the things I said in the original shutdown post do still stand. I have other projects which are becoming a conflict for my development time, and hosting the tracker is (sadly) not free. With that in mind:

RPThreadTracker is not shutting down! But it could really use your support in the following areas.

If you can contribute, you will really add to the likelihood that I can keep supporting RPThreadTracker, and other applications, long-term.

Development Support

RPThreadTracker is fully open-source, located in three projects on GitHub:

They are all furnished with documentation regarding how to set up a local development environment (ReactJS for the frontend, C# and SQL Server for the backend) and should hopefully be accessible to new developers interested in getting involved.

I will over the next few days/weeks be using the Issues tab on these projects to start collecting a list of outstanding issues and feature ideas that I have for the site, so that should be a source of ideas going forward for anyone who wants to contribute coding time. I will also be phasing out the contact form in the application in favor of redirecting users to log bug reports on GitHub as well to make it easier for contributors to address them as well as me.

Please feel free to get in touch with me if you are interested in contributing but don’t know where to start or have questions. You can also join the Discord server linked in my GitHub bio - it’s primarily oriented towards my Twitch gaming community but I also discuss programming stuff there and would love for it to be more of a forum for web development chat.

Yesterday, November 1, 2020, Typhoon Rolly (international name Goni) hit the central part of Luzon, Philippines.

Like the tweet said, it is the most powerful tropical cyclone to hit landfall in recorded history. 

The typhoon has now passed, but the aftermath is bad. Houses destroyed, farmlands flooded, and many, many evacuees. If you would like to see what’s going on, check the hashtag #RollyPH on Twitter, there’s a lot, which brings me to the most important point

This is just the tip of the iceberg, a lot of people in my country are trying their absolute best to chip in and help those affected, but help from outside would definitely be something that could go a long way.

What’s your name or any nickname you use? 

I’ve always wanted to go by Lyn, since it’s a more normal derivative of my name. But, most people usually adopt Xe or Xel as a nickname for me because they like the unusualness of my name, lol. I’m fine with that though.  

What’s your gender and sexuality (feel free to talk about it)? 

I am male, though I don’t like to conform to typical gender stereotypes and am considered pretty androgynous. My sexuality is kind of difficult to define, but I’ve settled on using panromantic demisexual as the simplest way to explain it. I don’t care what is or isn’t between someone’s legs so much as I care who they are as a person. I do feel sexual attraction to all genders and sexes, but I would not be willing to actually engage in sexual intercourse with someone, even if I am strongly attracted to them, unless we had a significant emotional bond and strong trust firmly established in the relationship. That won’t stop me from thirsting tho.

What are your hobbies? 

Art, writing, reading, video games, and spending time in the outdoors/woods (tho that hasn’t happened much this year because of Covid, which makes me sad)

What are your favorites? I’m a really big fan of sci-fi, especially anything robot/android related. Some of my favorite fandoms include Detroit: Become Human, the Alien franchise (you know, with the Xenomorphs), and Red vs Blue (tho I’m not caught up with the series and had to take a break from it for a while, haven’t gotten back to it yet). I like survival horror video games a lot and my favorite youtuber is H2ODelirious because he plays a lot of survival horror games but makes them absolutely hilarious to watch. My favorite color is silver/chrome, my favorite food is sushi, and my favorite animals are dogs. I have one, her name is Rayleigh and she is a black lab/Rhodesian ridgeback mix. What do you do on this app? (feel free to plug any side blogs)

On this blog (my main) I usually just post a bunch of my art and try to promote the fics I have on AO3 when I write new chapters. Sometimes I’ll reblog random stuff that I like too. It’s not really strictly for any specific thing, just whatever I feel like posting. But I don’t use it as much as my side blogs, which are for Role Play. I have a few different RP blogs for the DBH fandom. My current muses are Simon - @simon-pl600-501-743-923​ Markus and Leo - @the-manfred-boys​ Ralph, Daniel, and Jerry(s) - @plastic-with-personality​ and an original character of mine named Alma - @synthetic-human-prototype​ 

Who are some people that deserve more love? I don’t have a whole lot of friends on my main outside of Dee (the lovely person that tagged me), but I honestly have no problem with any of my followers taking this and doing it. So feel free to steal it if you see it and think it looks like fun. I’d tag my friends in the RP community, but I’m not sure if I want to bother them with something unrelated to RP, so I won’t get specific. Like I said, if you see this and want to do it, go ahead.
