"i may be dead, but i'm still pretty"

let me say one thing and make it VERYYYYYY fucking clear. it is never okay to point out someone's HEALED scars and try to push that person to tell you why they're there, especially as a fully grown adult who should absolutely know better.

whether those scars are there due to self-infliction or anything else, it is never YOUR business unless that person willingly tells you themselves.

my work uniform is short sleeved, and if i wore long sleeves underneath in this heatwave, it would simply be too hot. most scars aren't noticeable, and each of my bosses have no issue with me having my forearms on show.

nonetheless, i've had two seperate people try to push me the past three days in work to tell them what's on my arm -- mind you, every scar i have is healed and i'm over a year clean -- and both incidents have absolutely disgusted me.

a child asking is understandable. someone who lacks the cognitive ability to know better is understandable. two fully grown adults who know better asking and probing -- one with scars of their own mind you -- is absolutely absurd.

if you lack the decency to 1. not stare 2. not ask questions and most importantly 3. not push boundaries, then stay the fuck away from me, especially if you can even GUESS how those scars might make someone insecure.

while there's gonna be insolent people you come across in life who will do this, it should NEVER happen in a place of PROFESSIONALISM, where other's private business isn't your own.
