it actually kinda blows my mind that the writers didn’t fully close the door on bangel and kept acting like they were a possibility after I Will Rememebr You. for all of btvs s3 were told over and over again that they cannot be together because of his curse. and in I Will Remember You the main take away from that episode is that angel would not become human and be with buffy if given the option because he believes buffy’s love for him will get her killed. that should be the end of it. no matter what they can’t be together. what does it matter if angel fulfills the shanshu prophecy and becomes human. he literally already decided that it still wouldn’t work. why are we still doing this dance and forcing both angel and buffy to regress by several years so they can act like love sick teenagers every time they’re in the same room. am i the crazy one.

The mayor and Faith makes me more emotional than any other dynamic. Like in every scene the affection between them is palpable!!! and it grows over time!!! until that affection has no outlet for Faith other than rage!!!!

Buffy Summers, the living weapon, the child soldier, who was destined to die young as part of a chain of magically destined expendable teenage girls, who defied prophecy by coming back to life, who saw her friends get harmed and killed, who had to make a million impossibly difficult choices, now taking Intro to Psych....

People hate on Inca Mummy Girl a lot as an episode and I do understand it’s definitely not aged the best as far as representation/it’s another example of people of color being killed off easily in BTVS but I actually think it’s important thematically. One of my favorite themes of Buffy is how it points out the way women are used as sacrifices. Throughout history, throughout different cultures, all around the world women have been used for the betterment of societal structures that are made by and for men. The Slayer is ostensibly a virgin sacrifice - a young girl chosen to die to save others. That’s how the Slayer line began, by men forcing women to give up their autonomy and their lives to protect themselves. We see the beginning of this theme in Prophecy Girl, but this episode reintroduces it as a recurring theme that’s happened throughout history to countless young girls just like Buffy. Which sets up the introduction of previous Slayers, and the importance of permanently ending the Slayer cycle in Chosen.

I imagine that the Scooby gang has like a big gallon jug of holy water that they keep (according to Catholic canon) adding slightly less than half normal water to to turn it all into holy water granting them an endless supply of holy water. they spray it at spike every so often like one would a cat to check if it's still potent
