Guess who forgot about bios for Enid and Vaela???? The main two characters of the storyyyy???
....
This guy-
⚡️Enid, Lodestar of Dawn⚡️
She/They|Human|Class:Lodestar
The princess of the Archduchy of Certragia, who leads the Shields of Dawn to battle in her mother's stead. After witnessing countless tradgedies during the Three Long Years in Certragia, Enid trained relentlessly to become a knight so she could oppose tyranny and chaos. Enid hides any doubts or fears behind a brave, earnest, and strong-willed persona, using the privliges she was born with to protect the innocent. She holds herself to a high standard, and constantly carries the weight of her responsibilities, actions, and failings, as well as those of others.
Enid is a defensive all-rounder lord who can survive on the front lines and support their allies with her regal presence, and her heavy shield. They struggle only slightly with movement, but manages to act as a vanguard for the army when it counts the most.
☀️Vaela,Matriarch of Heroes☀️
She/Her|Human|Class:Bishop
Devoted
The Archduchess of Certragia, and founder of the Shields of Dawn. Scarred by the deaths of hundreds, including her late husband, she now seeks to work towards a brighter future, not just for her, but for the world. She is incredibly passive and empathetic and prefers diplomacy over violence, and often finds herself poorly hiding her anxieties.
Vaela is a powerful unit, with incredible magical prowess and resistance, and a high healing output, although her defenses are a little lackluster, and she's not as available as the rest of your army. She is capable of protecting those who are too tired or injured to keep going on, and preventing them from facing such trials in the first place.
The Shields of Dawn takes in many warriors from across the continent in their quest for peace. We've seen the protagonists, and their retainers and early recruits, but as we expand out gaze to the outside world, we find... a whole lot of people, huh?
For now, I'll showcase units based on where they generally make their home, or which campaign I'd expect them to fight in. For instance, most of the units in this one appear in Tale of the Rising Tides, where Nocivett helps the union of Pakwil-Chonok with a crisis, and end up discovering something incredible...
The charming princess of Nocivett. She is known far and wide throughout her lands as a beautiful, charming woman. So much so that many often let their guards down around her and underestimate her intelligence. She uses these moments of weakness to gain crucial information and improve her skills in magic, with the unwavering support of her younger brother, Prince Noah, whose tactical mind allowed her to escape a calamity in her country and seek the help of the Shields of Dawn.
Olympe is a powerful mage with incredible offensive power, which makes up for her frailty. Not only can she use her charms to lower the guard of brutish enemies, but she can attack multiple enemies at once with her quick spellcasting.
The brave eldest son of Nowtuol's royal family, who does not possess any magical talent unlike his siblings. Despite this, he's an overconfident young man who makes for a skilled general and fighter. He seeks honor-or more accurately, respect- and works extremely hard to get in people's good graces, and win. Perhaps he sees this as a way to make up for his perceived shortcomings.
Elliot is swift swordsman, with high strength and physical bulk, with his magic and magical resistance being outright terrible. He excels when he is at the the top of his game, uninjured or unblighted, but even in the darkest times, he will never stop fighting.
🌊Kenneth, Gallant Greenhorn🌊
He/Him|Human|Class:Militia
Devoted
A villager who lived in peace in the country of Pakwil-Chonok before he was kidnapped by Teragyth’s Eye, along with other innocents. Not content to be sacrificed or killed, he escaped along with some other captives. With the help of the Shields of Dawn, he was able to save the others. He later joined them. Humble, earnest, and resourceful, he does whatever he can to gain the approval of others. He cares about the common people and their struggles more than anything, and wants to use his new position to help them whenever possible.
Kenneth doesn't start off strong, but has incredible amounts of potential for any discipline you would have him pursue. Outside of his bugging talents, he does also help when it supporting other units, as he chips in on their attacks, eager to learn from them.
🌲Achilles,Giant's Heart 🌲
He/Him|Half-Satyr|Class:Berserker
Mercenary
A wandering "bandit" feared all across the land for his hulking height, brute strength, and ugly appearance. Though you don't have to look too deep to see that he is merely a softhearted man who wants to make friends. He has a hard time making them due to the above features, plus his oafish nature, but he will do everything he can to protect those in need.
Achilles has high strength and bulk, rivaling most of the units in the cast. However, his accuracy is one of his weaker points, so while he can take a lot of hits and deal a lot of damage, he often misses most of his attacks. His strength can be so overwhelming that ignores shields, and brutalizes other nearby enemies.
🌊Batzorig,Blackhearted Bruiser🌊
He/Him|Human|Class:Ranger
Devoted
A rugged Pakwillian mercenary, known for his foul mouth, bad attitude and cruel tactics. He raised Wolfe in his mercenary company after finding him, only really doing so because of Wolfe’s divine blood and a strange sense of responsibility. The mercenary commander taught the young heir the ways of combat and adventure. When Wolfe was revealed to be a descendant of a divine Luminary to the world, Batzorig encouraged him to take up arms and rebel against the cruel system with the help of the Shields of Dawn; if only so he may gain a spot among the high society himself to get back at those who’ve wronged him.
Batzorig is a strong, mounted archer, who can be a menace to foes. However, his horrible attitude can drag him into fights he can't easily win, and while he is great at lowering the morale of his foes, he can easily do the same to his allies as well.
A warrior from the plains and steppes who lived with a nomadic tribe. With a desire to explore and prove himself, he decided to set off on his own, and became a folk hero, looking for warriors to test his strength against. Back with his tribe, he was considered a troublemaker and nuisance, which made him worried about being seen as useful to his new allies.
Daamir can unleash swift flurries of blows, decimating the enemy with fierce attacks. His defenses are a little lacking, relying on evasion to survive. However, he makes up for his weaknesses by using the foe's strengths against them, and striking back with brutal counters.
A mercenary who's trying to make a living after losing everything and everyone she held dear due to the whims of the nobility. She is renowned for her strength and ferocity in battle, being known as the Maelstrom. Her service is usually placed at a high cost when nobles seek her out, but for the commonfolk, she tends to let them go scott free.
Jasmine is a balanced flier, with high stats all around, making her a formidable opponent for anyone to face. When she is the one to initiate combat, she hits foes like a flying brick. She is also very skilled at evading arrow fire, and crushing cavalry units with ease.
The bastard son of a minor nobleman of Nocivett who abandoned him, leaving him to wander across the land. He was taken in by Teragyth's Eye, who took him in and trained him in the dark arts. He was thankful at first, but as time went on, he grew disgusted with their practices. When the Shields of Dawn gave him the chance to leave, he took it without question. He is nervous and paranoid about being abandoned or killed, and believes that his knowledge will save him. He is rather wise and good at reading people, so that does help.
Leric is one of the only units in the game who start with dark magic, and is extremely proficient with it. He has high magic, decent speed and endurance, and is skilled at taking down physical foes with his skills and curses.
🌪️Farishta, Fatigue's Foe🌪️
She/Her|Satyr|Class:Assassin
Mercenary
A traveler and mercenary from Delka who gets money for her family back home, and desires to explore the world. Those in the right circles know her as a dangerous headhunter, taking lives for the highest bidder. But to must, she's an endlessly curious thrill seeker, who always has a sense of optimism and joy radiating off of her.
Farishta is deft with a blade, and can strike foes in vital areas, while dodging the enemy before they truly get a chance to strike back. She revels in excitement, gaining bonuses when she defeats a foe that increase her skills and let her fight for longer.
☀️Kerberos,Superior Servant☀️
He/They|Ollphiést|Class:Dragonskin
Devoted
A retainer of Scalborn's royalty who has more or less been born and raised to be the perfect servant, and the pride of his people by everyone around him. He was tasked with rescuing the crown princess Wilhelmina, from the dangerous mainland of the continent, and now watches over her as she fights to join the Shields of Dawn. They are caring, patient, and humble, not giving much thought to their needs, wants, or desires.
Kerberos boasts incredible physical defenses, and has good offensive stats all around, though his speed can be a problem. He is essentially a flying tank, with his scales growing ever tougher when he is attacked or at lowe health.
In the prologue of Shields of Dawn, Dawn of a New Hope, Enid leads a force to fend off rebel armies raised by a insurgent nobleman named Lord Terrance. She can't possibly do it alone, as even with her divine blood, her enemies will surely outnumber her.
Luckily, she isn't alone.
Oh, now is also a good time to mention a feature within this game that I thought of; a mercenary system, similar to that of Berwick Saga. Essentially, a majority of the units that you get will stay with your army permanently. These are Devoted units. But there are also Mercenaries; units who you need to hire to fight with you, and who will only fight with you for so many chapters. Mercenaries tend to be stronger at base than Devoted, or fulfill a very unique niche. Where as Devoted units are far more reliable and grow faster, and on your terms.
If one of the Mercenaries you hire enjoys your company, gets a lot of experience under your employ, or manages to achieve specific goals, they may decided to stay with you for longer, lower their rates, or even permanently join you. Be warned though, as if they become injured before they permanently join, they may have to end their contracts prematurely.
Anyway, with that being said, I will now be labeling when a character is Devoted or a Mercenary. I've also been thinking about designing (placeholder) personal skills/abilities for them, but like...that's for later.
A Certragian noblewoman, daughter of a margrave on the Nocivett. Despite her family's protests, she became a knight of the realm instead, seeing diplomatic matters as boring wastes of time. She was a wild, rugged woman, who lives for thrills and adventure, and is unable to sit still.
Josephine is a mighty offensive force, with high strength and great skill with axes. She can deal heavy damage when she starts a fight, and has enough bulk to survive the trouble she often gets into. Josephine is also skilled when allies don't cram her space by standing next to her, enjoying the freedom of movement.
Once the son of a merchant and a in the streets of Phenlory, he and his siblings fled to the country of Certragia when times grew tough and chaotic due to the death of their parents. He did everything he could to have a stable life for his family, becoming a knight of the realm. He is an overachiever who like sticking to a very strict, very unorthodox routine. It's as if a part of him believed not following through with actions perfectly will lead to catasrophe.
Cédric is fast, has decent defenses, and great accuracy. When on the frontlines, though his damage output can be a little lacking if he cannot strike quickly. Though, with the support of nearby allies, he often does gain the strength and speed needed to break through enemy defenses.
A mercenary of Certragia, who grew up under the care of her mother's mercenary band, The Emerald Claws. She felt like her skills and needs were being neglected, though, and set off on her own journey to prove her worth. She is cheerful and very resourceful, but can often be absent-minded or forgetful, as she's never been good at using her head.
Henrietta is incredibly fast, has high dexterity, and dances around the blades of her foes with ease, all of which make up for her frailty. She is especially adept at fighting outdoors, with as little restrictions as possible stopping her from crushing her foes.
A mercenary who’s seeking money for his family. They have lived a simple, if not poor life due to the poverty their village constantly faced. But as a mercenary and hunter, he hopes to eventually bring his friends out of poverty. He is stoic and kind to most, often trying to stay on everyone’s good side. Though, he's a little fearful of making anyone upset, and often fails to assert himself when it counts.
Kai has astounding accuracy with bows, and rarely misses his mark. He's also quite strong, and holds his own in combat, despite his lower evasion and frailty. They gain abilities centered around extending his range and making use of incredible dexterity.
🌑Harris, Deft Canary🌑
He/Him|Human|Class:Rogue->Outlaw/Assassin
Devoted
An urchin who lived on the streets of Certragia as a thief. One day, he ended up trying to rob the royal palace but was stopped by Vaela herself. Instead of having him executed, she took pity on him and decided to take him in, and have him trained to work as a spy, impressed by his ability to sneak past security. He is now a loyal servant of the crown, with rustic charisma, and a keen eye. He still holds sympathy for those who are suffering, and keeps an eye on the common people, helping out whenever he can.
Harris is a skilled man who has incredible evasion and dexterous fingers. While he's not exactly built for a fair fight, he can serve a very useful role, as he often slips by enemies unnoticed, and swipes gold and equipment with ease. And if need be, he is quite swift, and skilled with daggers.
🪨Emlyn, Stern Guidance🪨
She/Her|Human|Class:Paladin
Devoted
Older sister of Archduchess Vaela, and commander of a squadron of Certragia'd strongest knivhts. Over the course of three years, she learned how to defend herself so she could defend her loved ones, and now must raise her blade once more. She has a stony demeanor, but cares deeply for others and aspires to help other reach their true potential.
Emlyn is strong, and is extremely capable of holding her own with a blade, or keeping others healthy with some healing magic. However, as she's already promoted, she has little room to grow, and her strength is best suited for supporting her allies, allowing them to grow so she can stand alongside them in the future.
A tactician in service to Lady Emlyn. Who gained his skills during a time of turmoil in Certragia, known as the Three Long Years. While praised for his skills on the field and his ability to read people at such a young age, he often resents the praise; those skills were gained out a necessity during a dark time he doesn't like to look back on. He's often quiet, and only feels truly comfortable when he's by himself.
Ajax can use potent arcane magic, and has the speed and dexterity to deal decent damage, as well as supporting their allies with a few rallies. He also excels at exploiting any weaknesses the enemy may have, or making the most out of his own advantages.
The son of a Certragian baron, fighting in service of the country as a knight under Lady Emlyn's command. He dreams of following in the footsteps of his father, and ruling the territory he will eventually inherit with confidence. He is humble, quiet and gentle, and is wiling to do anything to help others. He seems to have an inferiority complex, as he's surrounded by many people who he sees as better. than him.
Roark has the makings of an incredibly juggernaut; high defense, great strength and dexterity, enough to match his allies and protect them from harm. Whenever one of his allies are in danger, he moves past the limitations of his heavy armor, and can quickly rush to their aid, shield in hand.
Orphaned at a young age due to the plague, Guerlemmo lived in the outskirts, as a thief, and then became desperate enough to commit banditry. One day, after being defeated by the Shields of Dawn, He laid down his axe, and swore to be a positive force for the world. This doesn’t stop him from being a blunt, brutish bastard of a man sometimes, but he’s honorable enough to know when to show respect to his betters.
Guerlemmo is a strong physical frontliner, with high strength, defense, and decent dexterity. In combat, he showcases abilities centered around taking down key targets;enemy commanders, monsters or other dangerous foes that show themselves.
A priestess from Certragia, who dove deep into the faith after losing her parents. When she was younger, almost no one showed her compassion, so nowadays, she tries to be compassionate to everyone. When it comes to being kind, she's loud and quite assertive about it, and often forces herself to hide negativity behind a smile. She keeps many secrets to herself, the most serious one being under the cloak she almost never takes off.
Caledonia is one of your first main healers, starting with decent stats all around, and serving your party well as a medic. However, she seems to hold some potential for offensive power, her prowess on the battlefield growing as she and her allies around her grow injured.
So, recently I've been rethinking how the story of my FE inspired project, Shields of Dawn could be formatted. Not because I dislike the idea of it being one continuous story, but mainly because I couldn't think of a way to make it one continuous story without the final product being around Radiant Dawn's size, not including optional maps/skirmishes.
Plus, I needed to retouch the lore of the setting a little bit, figuring some countries could be fused, or otherwise edited.
So I did a little thinking, and I came up with specific campaigns/scenarios that correspond to each of the major characters. I'm unsure if this is the format I will go forward with, because it brings up a LOT of questions about gameplay, and other stuff, but it does separate the characters and their own struggles into neat little acts and stories I can explore.
Dawn of a New Hope
Main Lords|Enid
It has been a few weeks since Archduchess Vaela has formed the Shields of Dawn in the center of Certragia, and things seem to be going somewhat smoothly. However, many seem to distrust the abilities and motives of the called "weak-willed" Archduchess.
In response to mercenaries and rebel forces raised by a nobleman named Terrance, Lady Enid raises to the challenge, intending to smite any who would threaten peace.
Her convictions may carry her through this battle, but this is only the beginning.
(This would technically be the main one/the tutorial section. This campaign is the first one you have access to, and Enid/the Shields of Dawn are relevant in every plotline, so having Enid be introduced allows her to still feel like her own character, while other MCs get more spotlight. Also it introduces a major theme present in all of the campaigns; people with power must use that power to help people without it, and those who don't need to be contested with a unified force. It's the most simple version of this theme, but it's effective as a foundation.)
Tempest of Brave Spirts
Main Lords|Taurn and Sophia
The empire of Bovent grows ambitious, and watches a nation it has suzeranity over, the queendom of Delka. Delka has lost its queen, who vanished months prior. As the people of the queendom grow restless, they call for anyone who can fulfill thr sacred duty of a leader, praying someone will guard their forests from outsiders again.
Sophia, princess of Delka, desperately searches for her mother in order to have her take her rightful place. Meanwhile, Bovent's imperial pricne Taurn has been sent to provide military assistance, and to observe the countries, by his father. To see if it is truly fit to continue to stand on one of its legs.
Though, Taurn fears that his father won't wait for an answer before sweeping the queendom's other leg.
(Sophia is afraid of being an actual leader, and Taurn is afraid of standing up to his father. But they both must gain the courage to step up, as nobody else will be able to do so. In addition, they must also learn to be open about their issues and trust each other and their peers, not just in battle, but with their emotions. They've bottled up their emotions for the sake of seeming strong for their people, but those fears and doubts never went away. And if not dealt with, they will haunt the two as they go on their journey.)
Silver Helms of Justice
Main Lords|Leon and Angeline
In the Holy Kingdom of Phenloryn, knights ride to the defense of the nobility, and the faithful guide the populous, inspiring awe and hope...as well as fear. Those who bring sin and disorder are often treated with brutal prejudice.
In the snowy wastes, the young maiden Angeline finds herself searching for strength, accompanied by the gallant lord, Leon, a true knight of the realm seeking order. They dedicate their lives to helping the innocent, and facing evil.
But Phenloryn may not be as noble and pure as it seems. It has a lot to answer for, and many wraiths that hunt down those who seek answers.
(Leon and Angeline both come from positions of privilege, and must learn to understand this, and to be more empathetic to the people, as well as growing as people due. Leon must be more understanding towards the common people, whereas Angeline needs to become more confident as a person. They also must right the wrongs of the country that they will inherit, even if it may mean putting their own noble positions in jeopardy and put themselves in danger.)
Tale of the Rising Tides
Main Lords|Noah and Wolfe
The noble union of Nocivett has been dealing with a mysterious force of cultists, and it's neighboor, Pakwil-Chonok, has been quite has been ansty for a similar reason. As people begin to lose hope, nobles seem to cling to their power for as long as they can, and taking power from their rivals.
Lord Noah is disturbed by this turmoil, and decides to investigate and bring the truth to light. He hires mercenaries to help, including Wolfe, a very skilled marksman with something truly special about him and his heritage.
As many truths are unveiled, and as dangers and responsibilities grow, one might wonder if they will be crushed under all the weight.
(Noah feels bound by responsibility and feels the need to live up to people's/societies expectations, which stifles his desires to help the innocent. It's actually Wolfe who makes Noah realize that as a person with power, nothing is more important than sticking to your principles and trying your hardest to do what you think is right for the most people. Even if it is deemed foolish or scandalous. Wolfe also has some noble expectations that he will have to deal with in the future, though he's not quite wary of this yet, and probably won't take being constrained by noble norms well, even before new revelations come to light.)
Dance of the Eclipsed Sun
Main Lords|Shahriyar and Lalithya
East and West Thuehaban have been locked in a civil war for ages, with the West being on the back foot. The eastern kingdom was far more prepared for brutal conflict than the western union, and they let them feel their malice with their steel and flame. But an arranged marriage between the princess and prince of these two countries may bring peace for years to come.
Shahriyar, second prince from the East seeks to protect his brother Surya from all the dangers he may face during this time. Meanwhile, Lalithya, princess of from the west, is willing to wear to do anything she can to reach peace, even if she may suffer through it.
Perhaps their love will see them through, before darker forces encroach on them and being both nations to ruin.
(Shahriyar and Lalithya already want do what's best for their nation, and sacrifice much to do so. Lalithya is willing to endure pain and hatred for peace, and Shahriyar is willing to dirty his hands and taint his soul if it means protecting his brother. While their desire for a better world through their turmoil and efforts can be noble, they must be sure to realize that they deserve to be happy and at peace in the world they plan on creating, living in it alongside their people. They already have a lot to face, but they don't need to face it alone or lying down.)
Soaring Past The Dark
Main Lords|Amethyst and Wilhelmina
For centuries now, the nations of Voronia and Scalborn have been ravaged and demonized by the rest of the world. To avoid further abuse, they are mostly isolated from the rest of the world, hiding away in the shadows, allied only with each other.
When the princess of Scalborn, Wilhelmina seeks freedom and runs away, the princess-regent of Voronia, Amethyst takes it upon herself to follow. The two dream of a world where their people can live for themselves.
The world beyond their borders can bring both beauty and destruction, and the past is not easily forgotten by either side. Yet they trudge on.
(The wounds of our past may linger, and cause many to hide away in fear, but in order to hold out some hope for peace and happiness, you must be willing to see the world. Wilhelmina wants to be free to be herself without fear, but Amethyst has seen how cruel the world can be. Being able to brave the dangers with people and inspire many to fight for your freedoms as well will be a great boon to you, especially as a leader.)

I'll keep this short. The new demo is just the first six chapters. I rewrote them and reworked. I plan on reworking the chapters I have and then releasing them at a later date. This won’t happen too many times don’t worry.
I've changed quite a lot, but I think I can confidently say that outside of some potential balancing issues or things that will come up in playtesting, there should be no more major changes to the mechanics, outside of like...maybe one if I figure out how to get it to work, but it'll be fine.
Hopefully y'all enjoy. I'll try to be more vocal about updates in the future.

Shields of Dawn does something fairly differently than most of the FE games/romhacks that I've seen. And that thing is having way too many Lords.
How it works for this concept is that, aside from Enid-who must be used on every main story map, you must deploy up to two other lords, with a maximum of five if you include Enid. Sometimes, a set of lords are force deployed depending on the campaign.
This post will show off the other lords that aren't Enid(the main character)
🔥Taurn, Solar Flare🔥
He/Him | Human | Class:Warmaster
I know I post about him a lot gimme a break
The crown prince of the Boventian Empire. A renowned warrior and noble who wants to be a pillar of strength to his allies, and to live up to the title of heir to his empire. He's headstrong, sociable and exudes an air of confidence, yet often feels afraid to show weakness in front of others.
Taurn is a strong frontliner with high physical stats and great potential for getting crits or dealing high amounts of burst damage. Though strong, he has lower magical resistance and has a middling speed stat.
❄️Leon, Knightly Ideal❄️
He/Him | Elf | Class: Lionheart
Crown prince of the kingdom of Phenloryn, after witnessing the extent of the chaos that runs amok in the kingdom, Leon goes on a journey to establish order and uproot chaos. He believes that, as a noble, it is his responsibility to help those of a lower class. While Leon is kind and just, his ideals and status are subject to be challenged by many.
Leon is a mounted tank with high speed and mobility, being able to dart around the battlefield with ease. His offenses are slightly lackluster on their own, but often he's resilient enough to hold his own on the front lines due to his high defenses.
🌲Sophia, Evergreen Duty🌲
She/Her | Satyr| Class: Auspex
Princess of the Queendom of Delka. With eyes falling on her to protect and rule the nation due to the disappearance of the queen(her mother), Sophia feels she may buckle under the pressure if her mother or her captors aren't found soon. She's a kind and energetic woman who cares deeply for her loved ones and her country. Her anxiety is often hidden from even her closest allies.
Sophia is a glass cannon with high strength and magic, but abysmal defenses. With high speed and evasion they will be able to handle themselves on the frontlines, especially around allies or in thick terrain.
🔮Noah, Enlightened Agent🔮
He/Him | Human | Class: Grandmaster
The youngest prince of the nation of Nocivett. His odd mannerisms, obsession with tactics and magic, and radical views on society have caused him to be seen as an outcast, yet many must admit his talent for strategy and combat. Still, he wishes to be seen as an equal to his peers and often endures countless struggles in hopes of conforming with his country's expectations.
Noah provides strong magical combat on a horse, though he's most notable due to their incredible supportive potential. He's skilled at rallying allies, to ensure victory with enchantments and buffs in order to rule out luck as a possibility, which ironically means his own luck is poor.
☀️Angeline,Heaven's Grace ☀️
She/Her | Human | Class: Saint
Daughter of the Archbishop of Phenloryn. She was sheltered all her life, not able to see the world, as she was deemed too frail to be a country's symbol of faith. But due to her desire to help others, she left her secure home, and decided to help those in need with what little strength she can muster up. She's often praised for her kindness and patience, but holds little confidence for herself due to her upbringing.
Angeline is a potent healer with incredible magical resistance, and decent enough evasion. She's not the strongest combat unit, but that’s less relevant thanks to offensive spells being strong, and her airborne utility on a pegasus.
🍃Wolfe, Verdant Wayfarer🍃
He/They | Half-Elf | Class: Hawkeye
A renowned mercenary from the union of Pakwil-Chonok, who unbeknownst him, is thr long lost heir of thr country's leader. Labeled a defect at birth he was tossed aside, and was to be raised by commoners and mercenaries, his lineage showing that he is supposedly destined for greatness. Wolfe is a cheerful, free spirit, who has a lot of pride in himself and their skills, and considers themself quite the charmer. But when it comes to the possibility of running a country, they're much less confident.
Wolfe is a flying archer with incredible speed and dexterity, meant to hunt down evasive units or enemy fliers. He makes up for frailty with high evasion and range, as well as decent damage.
🏔Shahriyar, Eclipsing Shadow🏔
He/Him | Human | Class: Mirage
The second prince of the Eastern Thuehaban. While his brother, crown prince Surya is the country's light and future, Shahriyar works from the shadows to make sure Surya's land isn't overflowing with chaos. He has a tongue as sharp as his skills, and is not afraid of dirtying his hands or his soul for the protection of the land he holds dear.
Shahriyar is very adept at getting critical hits, dodging most attacks and countering with debilitating debuffs, all while darting around the battlefield with ease. Their physical might may need a little assistance, but their utility in combat cannot be understated.
🪷Lalithya, Morning Bloom🪷
She/Her | Half-Elf | Class: Starseer
A princess form western Thuehaban, seeking to end the civil war that has been raging within the sultanate. Shields of Dawn (SoD) is a story intended for a strategy-roleplaying game, based on titles such as Fire Emblem (Genealogy of the Holy War, Awakening and Three Houses), Berwick Saga, and more. While it is not in active development, if it ever is, it's planned to an emphasis on making strong offensive movements, and unit customization of at least 40 unique characters, each with their own builds and abilities.
It takes place on the continent of Dalgari, a world once saved by legendary warriors blessed by the divine so they would slay the devilish. Those warriors went on to establish nations, with them and their kin leading the common people of the world as divine rulers. This system has led to stability...but there are many injustices that the country has to answer for.
Shields of Dawn’s story touches on themes such as the legacy that our ancestors leave behind impacting our present day, the responsibilities of those who have power, and how compassion and empathy towards others of all walks of life can dispel anxiety and bigotry. It also touches on themes of shaking up power systems for the betterment of society, and all the ways that can be beneficial.
By coming together, many people across borders and communities can fight injustice in their own lives. But it will all be for naught if those with power and influence don't enact those changes, acting in the best interest of the people they serve, and rooting out evil before they can rear it's ugly head.
Shields of Dawn follows Enid, the noble descendant of a legendary hero, and heir to her country.
Her mother, Archduchess Vaela, has seen the chaos that the past years have brought, and decides to combat that by forming a group of heroic protectors and diplomats known as the Shields of Dawn.
When remnants of a mysterious cult become yet another problem that the continent of Dalgari has to deal with–along with the discrimination, desperation, and anxiety that many forces bring–, Enid takes it upon herself to fight for a better tomorrow, alongside the other heirs of divine blood and heritage.
The tag(s) #ShieldsOfDawn, #Dalgari and/or #SoD will be used to share information on the cast of Shields of Dawn, as well as the world and story it follows, and the gameplay ideas I had about it.

as an rpg and tactics developer i find myself working with randomness a lot. i have a complex relationship with randomness these days, which is best articulated through a thought experiment about a guy named barnes.
now barnes (they/he) is a longtime gamer, and a skillful one at that. and they have to be, because they have literally the worst luck possible. they have never rolled more than a nat 1 in tabletop, never gotten the cards they've wanted, and gotten nothing but awful gacha pulls and the worst of whatever pity prize. maybe at some point while gaming you have thought "i just have the worst luck today!" but that was temporary, an anomaly. this is every day for barnes, and he knows it.
now think of a given game you like, any genre. could barnes win that game? what kind of playstyle would they have to adopt in order to play well? what, in this game, is guaranteed? what's the worst-case scenario? it's worth noting that most video games don't do perfect non-deterministic randomness. older games especially tend to have specific seeds, and rng manipulation is a very real skill. do you want that to be how barnes succeeds? or, on the other hand, are you okay with alienating barnes and making a game he literally cannot beat?
now, i know, barnes isn't real, they can't hurt you, this is a thought experiment. but if you're making a game with a lot of randomness, you're going to end up with a lot of people who are way more like barnes than you'd want to admit. how would you want them to feel playing your game?
Teehee.
Gilded Sun is a game in the Tathylia Chronicles series that...is not getting made at the moment. Despite that, not only do I have a cast of characters made in a GBA Portrait maker...but I also made some new characters to round out the cast.
Alright! New version of the final demo is out! It'll probably be the last for a while, so if you wanna play it, now is the time!
Will I get made fun of if I release an update to a demo? ...Ehhh, it'll be fine. SO, I noticed a few issues, changed quite a few things, onc
Also, I made a lot of the cast of Tathylia Chronicles: Argent Moon (players and NPC's included) GBA portraits. These may be edited later, because SRPG Studio is kind of a pain when it comes to using these.
No it's not a romhack. I just like the artstyle and can't draw. Maybe they're new references or smth.
Also they aren't IN the demo. And won't be. Deal with it.

Im trying to write out Ardency, and the main issue I'm having with it is "How am I gonna do a story of this size about a girl with eight friends?"
Like...one I figure out how to properly incorporate them into thr story i am GOLDEN. My main issues are thus.
This is for one of my game ideas, and because of the plot + my own SRPG brain rot+rpg party balance, there are a decent number of characters in the main group. They all fill a specific role, both in gameplay and in the story, but I want to keep the story relatively short.
The main thing that I want to focus on is that all of her friends have flaws and that trying to manage all of them, while maintaining all of these relationships is hard. And while this could be easy to do with side content(social links/optional interactions/etc) doing that in the main story feels a little off to me.
By the time all of the characters join the cast, the game would be entering it'd halfway mark. It's the longest part of the story, with a lot of content to view in it, but there isn't a lot of time. I'm also just not sure what to have them do outside of that. Adding another section wouldn't be an awful idea if I could figure out what the section could have inside it/make it not feel like padding.
A very complicated set of issues I have here~! It sucks because I love this cast and the ideas of this story are close to my heart. But getting it to stick is hard for me.
Im trying to write a character with NPD in a positive light. He starts off as an antagonist, but eventually becomes an ally, like a lot of his other friends. He also isn't an antagonist specifically because of his NPD, just because of like...group alliances or whatever.
I want to avoid the typical mistakes of making him like...a cartoonishly evil and mean abuser, because I've seen so many people assign that label to people with NPD and I hate it.
I have a general idea of how I want his arc/personality to go (He realizes that he doesn't have to try and prove he is special/confident/etc, and his attempts at doing so negatively affect people, including himself+ he deserves love like everyone else.)
My main issue is that ive been having trouble writing his earlier interactions with the MC or the main group, because I want his flaws to still be present. I've always had trouble writing characters who are mean/antagonistic but on thr side of thr main cast who are less mean antagonistic.
Does anyone have any tips to help me out? Especially if you happen to have NPD, that'd be great.
