oh!!! good question I don’t think I’ve talked about it here.

rita is an alien, obviously, but her species closely behaves like earth plants. since she doesn’t have a mouth to breath she does photosynthesis. her clothing is light so she can release other products her body doesn’t need like other gases her body doesn’t need (most carbon dioxide, didn’t exactly go that deep into it) and water vapor. her clothing is a material the will allow water vapor to pass through it it escapes from anywhere that isn’t directly exposed skin like her arms! this also means she produces her own food, sugar. her sugars are very sweet though unlike what earth plants produce! extra sugar is stored in the circular part of her anttenas for later. this leads into what I call blooms. her anttenas are flowers that go through shifts. they normally appear as buds that are for storage, but when they bloom all of that is let out. this causes a very sweet scent. blooms are basically a way to let males of her species know the females are fertile (ahah funny sex). this lasts for about a week and a half till the flowers wilt, causing a sudden mood shift due to lack of sugar in her body for nutrition. this lasts for a few days till budding comes back. budding is a 2 week thing where everything is normal function.
