the scoop: i am ashamed I haven’t written in like 4 days

the scoop: did you really think I was gonna write on the sixth day of nano? don’t worry about it

the scoop: i wrote nothing today lol

i was tagged by @writerproject to share the last line I wrote of my wip! this was written last night for nano so yes fun time:

“A grain of salt has been taken with them, maybe an extra pinch or two as well, but it’s fine. It’s fine. It’s not like I see her that often anyway.”

small town gays, fall aestheticish, i need to develop it more

5. Who is your protagonist?

Ona Clark! she’s very much confused about who she actually is because she feels like she’s in the middle of a lot of personality and just life distinguishers in general and she’s at a crossroads with a lot of life changes right now and on top of that she’s just really in a place she thinks she shouldn’t be but she is oops. that’s all the mental stuff but besides that she is a 15 year old child and i love her with my whole heart and i don’t know how to explain her other than read her

9. What do they wrongly believe about themselves?

the scoop: since i’m 5000 words in, here’s some snippets I enjoy from my wip:

the beginning: 

         They know. They all know. They have to. A bunch of kids from some organization are coming out of the choir room and I know they know something is up, so I shift myself to a less suspicious position just incase they notice, since I know they will. It’s moving. I swear I can feel it moving in my backpack, and I have to pull myself around to make sure it’s not out somehow. I sweat. Then, I wash myself with a sigh. It’s fine.

when ona first meets jane (my two main characters who have had so many name changes and I’m pretty sure ona is changing again teehee):

         I dig it, but her sudden focus on me makes me nervous. I don’t want to respond with all of this on me. Too much is happening. It’ll be socially acceptable if I ignore her. She’ll understand. 

         So I respond: “Hey.” I think I said it fine enough to pass off for fine.

some imagery for ya:

         Her father pulls up in a low riding red truck, one that changes the crisp Rhode Island air to a smooth, thick feeling. I lower myself into a ratty fabric seat that smells vaguely like an Egg McMuffin that sticks out in the cars atmosphere almost as much as her father does to a sore thumb. His quiet nature makes me either want to hide behind my backpack or hide my backpack behind me. I’m yet to decide.

some cool name stuff:

         “Yeah?” I say. Her nickname makes me shiver. Desdemona, I think. My parents never let anything be simple. Maybe it’s revenge on their own names. If I was named Mark or Sara I might want to name my kids better too. But if I was an English professor like Mark I might want to name my kid after a character that wasn’t so sad. Hopefully an Othello doesn’t strangle me in this lifetime too. At least they call me Ona. Ona’s okay enough.

the scoop: i wrote everything while my gf napp. Good time

the scoop: i barely got any writing done cause I wasn’t home and when I got home I was sleeping so I’m behind already and I need to do a lot of words teehee

the scoop: i haven’t written first person or present tense in so long... it’s hard for me since I’m always 3rd last tense but we love a learning experience. writing is hard and this isn’t really coming out how I want so I’m a little discouraged but first drafts be rough, It’ll get better

the scoop: i made a new character that changes my plot kinda drastically an hour before nano but tbh it be like that and needs to be like that sometimes but my bones. Are ready. i am so prepared let’s get this bread
