⠀⠀⠀⠀“ Aheheh...  I  didn't  expect  to  BE  here. ”

   Sofia couldn’t help but grasp at her chest when the Doctor spoke. How she missed that voice of his. She missed every single thing about him. It was like his excuses were justifiable, only because he was him.

   She should be angry at how those pesky birds took his attention away from her, how he should be looking at her. But seeing how they put a smile on his face…oh, she couldn’t take that away from him. Never.

   But when he finally turned his attention to her. She was shaking.

   “B-But I was…so scared…” Sofia scratched irritably at her many bandages. “You were gone for so long…I…” Breath quickens, scratching grows harsher. “I-I d-didn’t know when you were coming back…” Scratch scratch scratch…

   “Y-You’re staying now…right? W-With me?”

   Please say yes. Please say yes.

⠀⠀⠀⠀As  any  good  doctor  would,  he  examined  her  closely,  &  with  apparent  concern.  Why  shouldn’t  he ?  the  Medic  wasn’t  a  mental  health  professional  by  any  means,  but  there  was  something  WRONG  with  the  girl.  Her  bandages...  There  were  new  ones.  Curious.  He  took  a  few  steps  closer  to  Sofia,  a  large,  gloved  hand  reaching  out  &  taking  the  scratching  one  of  the  girl’s  in  his  own.  It  was  a  firm  hold,  but  not  painful,  rather  reassuring.  His  smile  was  warm,  FEIGNED  as  such.  

⠀⠀⠀⠀“ You  managed  just  fine. ”  He  assured,  thumb  tracing  atop  Sofia’s  hand.  “ QUITE  IMPRESSIVELY,  even !  I  fully  expected  you  to  be  in  a  much  worse  state !  Ah  well,  I’m  very  lucky  in  that  regard. ”  So  chipper  even  when  conveying  the  same  story  as  one  who’d  left  their  cat  alone  with  no  kibble.  A  melodic  hum,  he  pulled  away  from  the  girl  to  begin  cleaning  his  beloved  medical  instruments.  So  dusty  in  his  absence !

⠀⠀⠀⠀He  tsk'd  at  the  girl  frantically  fumbling  out  questions  and  even  demands,  not  even  regarding  her  with  a  kind  glance  as  the  doktor  stroked  one  of  his  beloved  doves  from  head  to  tail.

⠀⠀⠀⠀“  You  should  know  by  now  —  I’m  a  busy  man.  ”  Medic  scolded  through  a  smile,  mimicking  the  coos  of  the  bird  perched  on  a  gloved  index.  “  My  job  keeps  me  occupied,  both  on  and  off  the  field,  and  it  also  takes  me  quite  a  ways  away  from  where  you  call  home  mein  Lieber.  ”  

“Misha is getting too old and giant for this.”

She taps on the door with her knuckle. “I’m suppose to be here for my physical?” Miss Pauling had mentioned it as a necessary requirement to ensure that she’s in full health before her first fight with the team.

💉 —— It was a subtle knock, one that barely sounded off against the thick med-bay doors, but it was enough for the infamous RED medic to throw one open before the new hire could finish her sentence. He looked, side-to-side as if he had missed something, but then his eyes flicked downwards.

“ Oh, there you are! ”

“ You’re much smaller than the men I work with. No matter - we begin immediately! ”

He was just as eccentric as everyone said, maybe even more-so. He wouldn’t opt for the polite request for her to to step in, instead the Psychic was grabbed by the wrist and excitedly tugged in through the doors.
