Alice Kingsleigh is based on the Alice from Alice in Wonderland. She is a 25 year old human, Wonderland employee, and uses she/her pronouns. She has no powers. Alice is portrayed by Samantha Logan
tw death mention
alice may not have always agreed with her parents and their wishes for her, but she did love them deeply. she was always closer to her father than her mother; he was an inventor, someone who thought outside of the box even when society told him to keep his toes in line, and alice likes to think she got her best traits from him. he always was the one who told her that her future could be anything she wanted it to be, and she believed him. she still does.
her mother, however? they were constantly butting heads. she wanted alice to be a proper lady, to speak only when spoken to, and alice just wasnโt what her mother envisioned her to be. she liked to speak her mind, she liked to ask her questions, and she liked to fight for what she believed in. she hated dressing up in frilly clothes and going to silly parties and trying to be the little debutante she knew her older sister to be. ย she just wanted to be...alice.
all alice has ever wanted to be was the hero of her own story. she wanted to make change and make a difference in the world she lived in. she wanted to fight for those who were still finding their voice and those who lost one too soon. she can get incredibly carried away and think too highly of her own skills sometimes, but it is that confidence that keeps her going. it is what drives her to be the person she is.
she has no recollection of the day she lost everything, but she is constantly in a state on unease. she was at a protest, denfdening her fellow lgbtq+ community. her sexuality has always been something she wasnโt ashamed of and she wanted to stand tall with her community. she hadnโt even thought that her activism and her work could get the people she loved hurt. she was selfish and it costed something she was never going to ever be able to get back. one could argue a sense of dread is better than knowing the awful truth but knowing alice she will do the most to learn why she feels that way.
wonderland truly changed her. of course her sense of injustice fueled her to want to make wonderland a better place but it was more than that. it became a second home. she fell headfirst into the madness and has been a happy camper in that sense since. she is just a cocktail waitress or whatever other job needs to be done, but she wants to do more, she needs to do more; if she doesnโt how can she know the full extent of reina and her treatment of the people here?
she wants to be a dancer at wonderland more than anything. she watches the girls on stage with so much admiration and respect. she wants to enchant a crowd like they do. she has practiced her dancing, created routines in her head that she is sure would spice things up. she is determined to audition but she has a feeling reina will reject her simply because the two dislike each other. she has filled in before in the background for acts before but she just knows she could have what it takes to be a main dancer.
these days she teeters even more between the real world and a fake one she created to deal with the nausea in her stomach from events she canโt even remember. the party scene at wonderland is rampant and alice indulges happily in it. sometimes she feels her mind is sharper when it isnโt supposed to be. she likes her party drugs a lot and she feels they help her see the world even better.
alice considers herself pansexual because she feels she is capable of loving anyone and everyone who hasnโt created great wrongs in the world. she is a very generous lover and is known for hooking up with others easily. alice is the type of person to fall hard and fast so she tries to just keep it to sex and fooling around to keep things simple. she tends to not hook up with the same person twice because she knows she will somehow catch feelings otherwise.
she is a bit emotionally driven. when she is mad or frustrated, she cries. she used to be teased for it constantly. she has since found her strength in her empathy but for a while it was rough.
she is very gullible. while she tries to stay proper in conversation, she is too trusting, and believes everything anyone is saying to her. not unless it is too real, at least. reality is something she cares for so much and yet she doesnโt know how to stay in it for too long without wanting to lose her head.
she is a big fan of riddles and games. she likes puzzles, tongue twisters and she is also a big conspiracy theory enjoyer; just about anything that gets her thinking and questioning why things are the way they are. when she was little she used to speak in riddles with her father over breakfast. her fondest memory is when her father taught her how to play chess and how he made a complex game feel easy.
despite the fact that alice tries to surround herself with other people constantly she always has this deep feeling of loneliness. she doesnโt know why, really. she has always felt like she didnโt fit anyoneโs boxes and she never wanted to, but that didnโt mean others saw that as a good thing. she combats her loneliness with making even more friends she is convinced will leave her behind when they get tired of her manic pixie dream girl state of being, but itโs okay. at least she tells herself it is.
her apartment is a place she hardly stays at. in all honesty, she only has one so she has a bed to sleep in at night just in case. she is always trying to keep herself busy and be anywhere else but โhome.โ it doesnโt feel like anything more than a temporary place, really.
her personal style is honestly a little bit all over the place. sometimes she is feeling colorful, sometimes she is feeling all black. she typically likes to sneak blues in her wardrobe regardless of the fact. she's gotten better at dressing up for an occasion but she doesn't favor it.
despite every single vice she has she is still such a serious person. she wants to be silly and goofy but if she is it is normally unintentional. even when she is high off her ass she is dead serious about every action she makes.
she finds herself playing with stray cats more and more each day. she wants to take them all home, but she knows that isnโt very realistic. she kind of feels like a stray cat sometimes. not knowing where she should be but being able to tough it out no matter what. she may be soft on the outside and a lot on the inside but she is so determined to never give up literally anything without a fight.
a triple cancer. yeah, a triple cancer.
