TERKINA WINCHELL is a 28 year old SHAPESHIFTER based on TERK from TARZAN. They are a MUSIC STORE EMPLOYEE with THE POWER OF SHIFTING. They use SHE/THEY pronouns, and most of their memories are intact.
terk doesn't know much outside of their village. up until following taran into evermore, they expected life to be the way it had always been; keeping the buildings from leaking, tending to crops, making sure their little society continued to function. they had no plans for the future aside from taking care of their family when they got old.
now that they're in evermore they have to admit, they're not sure if that is what they want anymore. the world has so much more to offer than they ever knew. they don't want to be away from their family, and they often wonder if they fit in with the people here or stick out like a sore thumb... but they don't think they'd be satisfied going back to the way things were before.
if you call them terkina, there's a good chance you're getting punched. two people are allowed to call them that, and it's their mother, who named them, and taran. and he's still getting punched. but he won't get punched as hard.
terk isn't really looking for a relationship or hookups or anything of the sort, but they are into women and non-binary. no men.
while they're bitter at the way taran seemed to turn his back on everything he'd known... they don't hate people. they understand why their mother did, why she warned them humanity was dangerous. but it's hard to look at taran and even jane and think that people are evil.
they're not out here telling everyone they're a shifter, they're not stupid... but they also don't believe most people would harm them for being one and it seems just as bad to see them all in one light as humans seeing shifters the same way.
emotions aren't easy for them. they're usually pretty content, joyful, even; but when negativity strikes, they are much better at being mad or annoyed than anything else. and that's how hurt feelings present themselves. if someone were to see them crying, they might actually die.
they can be quite satirical. it's a coping mechanism.
terk absolutely loves music. it was something that was limited back at home and the biggest pro of being away. getting a job at a music store was a no brainer and while they cannot play any of the instruments, that does not stop them from fucking around with them anytime it's slow enough to do so.
they've started quite a record collection so far. their first purchase was a vintage record player they found in a thrift shop, and since then they've made a trip to the record store every payday!
terk does not get made up often, if ever. their preferred style is casual. tomboyish, no makeup. baggy tees, jeans, worn down sneakers. they don't care to look... fancy. no point.
would do anything for their boys. no one hurts Taran or Tanton and walks away unscathed.
they love having fun. especially if it gets the heart pumping. they feel they missed out on a lot and now is time to make up for that.
they are not one to turn down a dare, only worrying in the aftermath about it being dangerous. act first, think later! their... unfortunate... motto.
to sum them up, they are a stubborn, loyal-to-a-fault, fun-loving, adrenaline-chasing, refusing-to-admit-they-care wise ass.
