star-crossed
The boy born in March could not love the girl born in May
He was born at the edge of winter, where spring was just out of reach She was born in the prelude to summer, where flowers bloom and birds preach of hope that the boy could never decipher
You see, he came into the world as it was thawing, but she came into the world as it was growing
And even when she pleaded for him to cross the border to meet her
He would always retreat back to his world of longer nights, and shorter days where the sky is often grey
But you must not blame him. After all, he was nothing like the girl, the girl born in May
