I appreciate that, rather than yet another Matt/Fisk fight, this time Fisk got his own Tunnel Fight™. But I don't love the way this show continues to Both Sides contemporary politics. We're supposed to root for vigilantes and also when a mob of people dressed as a vigilante storm a government building to take down a strongman who refuses to leave, Daredevil stops them. The AVTF are falsely imprisoning people who are not a danger to society and also "The Good Cops" will stand up to them. Don't get me started on how Luke Cage was an absentee father working for the CIA while Jessica Jones has diminished powers because of being a mom.

I don't expect trenchant political satire from the MCU. The best they probably did was the Fuck the French throughline of Wakanda Forever. But if you're gonna pull from things like January 6 and ICE and CIA black [ha] ops, I think it's irresponsible to do it in such a cavalier way.

I imagine many of the Andor characters who are not in Rogue One will die during the series. Bix. Luthen. Brasso already got got.

I also know Varada Sethu is currently a companion of The Doctor so maybe she just had scheduling conflicts and they didn’t want to do her like Jimmy Smits.

Having a queer character express affection then die is so trope-y a trope it’s a sub-trope of Bury Your Gays. Yeah yeah, the Castiel meme? We’ve all seen it.

Maybe Beau Willimon [or Tony Gilroy] thought this was better than having Vel or Cinta die without either more explicitly expressing their affection. Sethu views the relationship as “not exploitative.” Gilroy claims “I don’t think about it” regarding the significance of the Vel/Cinta kiss. I can believe all parties had good intentions.
