In the days of faceless corporations, PR talk, community managers and professionalism I would like to appreciate Rebb Ford creative director of warframe, live streaming herself eating MTG cards in clown makeup in an FF themed basement with balatro music because she didnt get the card she wanted. The Warframe team almost harkens back to the '90s and early 2000s where every dev was, like, a person and still presented themselves as being people publicly.

It was the peak of "yeah, John Romero spent so long playing Deathmatch instead of making the game he was Deathmatching that it hurt productivity", it was the rise of Todd Howard stumbling over himself with "yes, I was in chess club."

I can't remember what killed it exactly; it wasn't quite "John Romero failing to make us his bitches", I don't think it was the "Giant Enemy Crab." It might have just been a slow descent into corpo soft language.

Warframe? Nah. Our community manager eats cards. We got Werner Herzog to read poetry about how cool our lore is. We'll gleefully admit that we don't know what the hell is going on, we're just writing and playing and writing and playing, who gives a fuck? Ninjas play free, we all lift together, and we're making tons of Grofit. PR teams can suck it, play Warframe.
