recently I think a switch flipped in my brain because now every time I go on amazon or to the mall or basically just any shopping, it all just looks like trash. literal trash. everything is just plastic junk. landfill core. all the clothes are ugly plastic fast fashion trends. there's no soul or character in anything. I look at these heaps and heaps of things and all I feel is disgust.
People who recycle and put their trash in their pocket until they find a trash can and people who pick up liter when they see it and people who still cut the six-pack rings so animals don’t get trapped or choke on them and people who move turtles out of the road and people who stop for ducks and geese to cross all have a very special place in my heart. You are so good to this world and earth. I hope you know that.

PSA: tumblr user littlefuckinmonster is stealing human bones from cemeteries in Louisiana. Please don’t let them get away with this and spread the word/signal boost!
this post is officially a decade old now
For anyone who wasnt around when this happened, this was real. Littlefuckinmonster was actually stealing bones from cemeteries. She is the bone stealing witch. She was specifically stealing bones from poor people. She was arrested for it.
This is not a Goncharov, this literally happened, here’s the Wikipedia article about it.

Great Depression-era Christmas card on recycled paper (via here)
If you follow the source link you end up at an article about the card that includes information about postage and the poem transcribed below:
In days gone by when we were broke
We hated to reveal it
In fact our pride demanded that
We struggle to conceal it.
But now at least we’re right in style
And need not fear confession.
We shrug and smile and say “Oh, well -
It’s merely this depression!”
And so this card which once we’d scorn
Now seems within all reason.
It’s cheap - and yet it brings to you
Best wishes of the season!
— isa b. excerpt from my poem, "it will remain"
