The station felt unusually quiet that afternoon. Most of the team had been sent out on a mission nearly an hour ago, leaving only Minho and Seungmin behind to deal with paperwork. According to their captain, somebody had to stay behind and keep things running smoothly. According to Minho, it was complete nonsense.
“This is discrimination,” he declared for what was probably the fifth time that day, leaning back in his chair with a dramatic sigh.
Seungmin barely glanced up from the report he was reading. “Against who?”
“Me.”
“Right.”
Minho spun a pen between his fingers before dropping it onto the desk with a loud clatter. “I should be out there solving crimes instead of sitting here doing paperwork.”
“You spent twenty minutes trying to avoid writing a report this morning.”
“Because reports are boring.”
Seungmin shook his head, scribbling something onto the page in front of him. “They’re also part of the job.”
The room fell quiet again after that. Rain tapped softly against the station windows while the fluorescent lights hummed overhead. Minho tried occupying himself for all of three minutes before giving up completely. His eyes wandered across the room until they landed on Seungmin.
Unlike him, Seungmin actually seemed capable of concentrating. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, his tie loosened slightly from a long day of work. A few strands of hair had fallen into his eyes, though he either hadn’t noticed or didn’t care enough to fix them. He looked entirely focused on the paperwork in front of him.
Unfortunately for him, that made him an easy target.
“You know,” Minho began, resting his chin in his hand, “I think they left us behind on purpose.”
Seungmin looked up immediately, already suspicious. “What are you talking about?”
“The mission.”
“What about it?”
“They knew we’d solve it faster than everyone else.”
For a second, Seungmin simply stared at him. Then he let out a tired sigh and looked back down at his report.
“That’s definitely what happened.”
Minho pointed at him. “Exactly.”
“That was sarcasm.”
“Sure it was.”
A small smile tugged at the corner of Seungmin’s mouth before he quickly hid it. Unfortunately for him, Minho noticed.
“There it is.”
“What?”
“You almost smiled.” Minho pointed out
“I didn’t.”
“You absolutely did.”
Despite his attempts to remain serious, a quiet laugh escaped Seungmin. The moment it happened, he looked away and pretended to focus on his paperwork again.
Minho grinned triumphantly.
“Was that a laugh?”
“No.”
“It was.”
“It wasn’t.”
“You laughed.”
“You are genuinely exhausting to be around.”
“Yet here you are.”
“Because we’re coworkers.”
“Coworkers don’t buy each other coffee.”
Seungmin immediately regretted responding when Minho’s grin widened. “That was one time.”
“Three times.”
“Who’s counting?”
“You, apparently.”
Before Seungmin could come up with a response, the radio on the desk crackled to life. Both men jumped slightly at the sudden noise.
“Everything alright back at the station?” a voice asked.
Seungmin quickly grabbed the radio. “Everything’s fine.” A snort escaped Minho before he could stop it. There was a pause on the other end. “Everything definitely doesn’t sound fine.” The radio clicked off.
For a moment neither of them said anything. Then Minho burst out laughing, and this time Seungmin couldn’t stop himself from joining in.
The sound echoed through the otherwise empty station. Somehow, despite spending the entire afternoon complaining about being left behind, Minho found that he didn’t mind it quite as much anymore.
“Your hair is a mess you know” minho finally points out, yet still not doing anything to fix it
Seungmin turns, “no it is not!”
Minho pushes himself out of his chair with a sigh
“Yes it is… let me fix it for you. You have no self awareness”
Minho walks over and fixes seungmins hair from behind before he can protest. His head on minhos chest as he fixes it.
“There all better”
Yet neither of them move away despite Seungmins hair being in place
Minho goes to pull away but Seungmin wraps his hand around Minho’s wrist.
Minho froze as seungmin murmurs “can you…stay there for a second…?”

This might be controversial but I do not believe in the death penalty bc it is the government killing its citizens and I hate the idea of the government having any excuse to kill me and make wiggle room for it. If u let them kill what u deem as bad people they will make an excuse to kill innocent people. They will
As an s/a survivor yes I want my assaulter to die under a machine gun BUT not one by the government. The inmates in prison usually do that anyways
