Some general notes on rp style for this blog:

1. I favor paragraphs [even short ones] over "script" style. I don't mind script, but writing actions within brackets or asterisks bores me over time.

2. I DO NOT RUN THIS BLOG AS IF BECKETT HAS A BLOG. Beckett remains content not to waste his time on tumblr when he could be doing vampire Indiana Jones stuff

3. RPs which happen on this account in any style are considered CLOSED unless noted as a veritable free for all or open rp. Why? It gets confusing if you're trying to do a thing and someone else just shows up. Yes, I get it- element of randomness and what have you, but while chaos and unpredictability are fun in some settings, I don't like thinking that what I plotted with another mun could be messed up because someone decided to crash the rp.

LaCroix rises from his chair, rigid and leering furiously at Beckett. He places his hands flat on his desk, the knuckles of his hands going white. His face betrays no hint of fear - save for perhaps the slight twitching of the corner of his eye. “She is my ward,” he snaps, voice rising in volume. “She has been provided with a well-furnished haven and employment underneath the Prince of the city. Some neonates would murder for her current situation. Do you wish to rob her of this luxury - one, I might add, that she enjoys?”

"Your luxury will ruin her. Turn her over to my care, let me teach her, and if she chooses to return to you that’s her choice. I will not negotiate on this matter.” Beckett growled, eyes narrowing. He refused to let a Gangrel grow up the pet of some arrogant Ventrue Prince.

LaCroix pursed his dark lips tightly. A threat, and one from a vampire older and (he was loathe to admit) most certainly more powerful than him. The girl could be easily replaced - finding someone who surpassed her skill in office work would be no difficult task. She was not worth so much to him that he would risk his neck to keep her and be injured, or worse - be humiliated publicly. His scowl deepened, and he sniffed a tight “very well” in response to the elder Gangrel.

Beckett smiled. "A wise decision. Thank you for your time, Prince Lacroix." His tone suggested feigned sincerity, but his posture held enough threat to ensure Lacroix wouldn't retort. With that he turned and exited the office, moving off to find his new pupil and inform her of the change of situation.

Perhaps another clan, but not a Ventrue- never a Ventrue. Especially not Lacroix. "Turn her over to me, let me teach her properly, and we will have no quarrel between us. I am not a violent man, but even my patience runs out, Prince.”

It is quite a shame how grand cities and civilizations tend to be destroyed by jealous hands and it’s riches scattered among the conquerors.

Such is the way of pride, making one believe their conquest is just- and thus history only remembers the tale of the victor.
