A/N: So I’ve been asking for prompts on tumblr because I wanted to write a Valentine’s fic and this morning someone posted Wolf’s art on the server and I was like THIS. The fact that he emphasized they’re MARRIED in that art was kind of a challenge for me because I couldn’t think of a plot, so I figured I should start with the setting. I like my sunsets purple, but you painted them orange and I loved it anyway, so I thought of the thematic of colors and sky should be quite fitting. There’s a glaring problem with this— the theme would be too close to chasing clouds for it NOT to be inspired by it, so it just HAS to happen in the same universe :p

Midnight comes to him in a haze of dark blues— blue like the rain-soaked blazer hanging on his coat perch and the ironically well-timed song filtering through the open window of his bed and breakfast. Blue like the steps leading to that rainy train station, like the numbers painted on the shinkansen’s walls and the small suitcase carefully stuck in her overhead compartment. Blue like the sky before the darkness, dark like the night she leaves with her goodbye.
