My peace, O my brothers and sisters, is my solitude,

And my Beloved is with me always,

For His love I can find no substitute,

And His love is the test for me among mortal beings,

Whenever His Beauty I may contemplate,

He is my "mihrab", towards Him is my "qiblah"

If I die of love, before completing satisfaction,

Alas, for my anxiety in the world, alas for my distress,

O Healer (of souls) the heart feeds upon its desire,

The striving after union with Thee has healed my soul,

O my Joy and my Life abidingly,

You were the source of my life and from Thee also came my ecstasy.

I have separated myself from all created beings,

sending so much love to everyone who feels like they're never chosen as the best friend, as the partner, as the favorite. sending love to all of you who have been treated and felt like second best. sending love to all of you who have felt rejected and unwanted. to all of you who have had to try really hard to fit in because you felt like you never will. you are so loved. you will be seen and heard by the right people. you can trust that you are valuable and not defined by other people's perceptions of you. if someone doesn't see your worth, it doesn't mean it isn't there.

i believe in the kind of love that doesn't demand me to prove my worth and sit in anxiety. i crave a natural connection, where my soul is able to recognize a feeling of home in another. something free-flowing, something simple. something that allows me to be me without question..

there is so much hope in hopelessness.
