The Other One Was Taken

Like he lived for a MONTH with no memories, no contact with parents, presumably no place to stay, and I don’t think he even thought about having a phone until he realized he SHOULD have one, he only questioned it when someone else questioned it first(like Kyoto where we see him question school trips).

I like thinking that reality itself also altered his own perception of himself, making him think that things like this were normal, that he’s just forgetful. He DOES have a phone its just…not with him at the moment. Or when he was supposed to be going home he actually just subconsciously disappeared like he did at the piano.

From what we know about him there has been one positive adult figure in his life and that’s his mom. His dad was abusive, his teachers were outwardly biased against him, Kamoshida was abusive, and he had to fight the councillor who was supposed to help him.

The ONE adult who isn’t his mom that he has no problems with is Sojiro, and that’s probably just cause of Futaba and Joker’s trust in him.

I know that all of the characters talk about ‘rotten adults’ but literally no one does it as much as him and he’s the one who puts emphasis and meaning in the adults. It’s pretty evident that he has an expectation for all adults to be bad people.

Like, he’s dressed like a punk/thug(whatever one you wanna call it), has a pirate persona, and his power is lightning.

This feels so random.

That’s right. They gave the pirate lightning powers. Y’know, a pirate? Someone who spends all their time surrounded by water, and a very important fact about water is that it does not mix well with water.

Like I understand that we joke about it a lot, but that IS Choso’s dad who has discarded him, ruined his life, got his brothers killed, raped his mother, nearly killed him, constantly calls him useless and a failure, and keeps on trying to DO MORE.

Choso’s ONLY family are his BROTHERS because of that man. He has taken away Choso’s mother, his chance of having a father, a community, and then took away his brothers too.

Even if Kenjaku’s goal wasn’t to make Choso’s life as torturous as possible, he did it. And he shows no remorse for it.

Little things such as never eating your favourite food again, or hanging out in your favourite spot, or watching your favourite show, or reading a new book, is a great way to prevent someone from taking their own life.

Focusing on little things is something pretty important for having happy moments sometimes.

I doubt that while making art, or cooking, or something else you enjoy you’re thinking of something like warfare and those little breaks are important for mental health. You can’t always be focused on the big bad things and most of the time the little things are things that make us happiest.

I honestly don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Gojo would hate that man the same way he hates the higher ups.

Gojo puts one thing above all and that is the safety of his students, or children with powers in general. He literally killed his best friend to protect his students, and he died to protect his students. The literal KEY THEME with Jujutsu kaisen is THE EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN! or exploitation in general, but with Gojo’s he mainly focuses on child exploitation.

And somehow people look at the fact that he has a similar joking energy to say that they’d get along.

Gojo in no way would enjoy hanging out with the guy whose STRENGTH is EXPLOITING HIS COWORKERS FOR HIS PLANS.

And yes, typically Dazai’s plans have a somewhat righteous end goal, but the way he gets to that end goal causes a lot of pain to quite frankly everyone around him.

I think just Akutagawa would be enough for Gojo to hate that man.

And yeah, I do believe that Dazai is a great manipulator who if wanted to could manipulate Gojo, but also, Dazai doesn’t do friendly manipulation. He doesn’t make people think he’s a nice and funny guy(other than arguably Atsushi but that is shown time and time again to not be his actual intention), the times when he’s most friendly are the times when people usually get scared of him.

But that also contributes to my earlier point, which is that Gojo hates manipulation.

It gets funnier when you realize he uses it as a title, not a name, which is why when talking about Atsushi he says ‘the weretiger’

Also should anyone think so, The tell-tale heart is not romance.

For one, that’s literally impossible even with the rules set up in the universe. Two, I feel it’s incredibly obvious that it is Akutagawa’s head(similar to the headmaster with Atsushi) telling him that it is okay and that his life meant something, he did good, and he is allowed to have the peace that he desperately wants.

That’s all there is to it. It’s not some thing about Dazai. It’s entirely Akutagawa’s hallucinations comforting him so that he can have a peaceful death, it’s him giving himself his own approval.

It’s a lovely moment of Akutagawa having a moment of peace with himself and living and dying solely for himself. His life was worth it to him.

If you ask me that is ten times more impactful than Dazai giving him his approval.

Ive also got it somewhat like that in the og universe, but instead it’s Lucy in Tanizaki’s position and Akutagawa in Atsushis.

Everyone isn’t being weird and rude when they call him that, it’s pretty much just what his role is. He does whatever his superiors tell him to do.
