Government: ok we are going to ban everything that romanticizes "taboo" stuff; smut about incest, abuse, rape, dark romance, everything like that, oh and also "icky" fanarts about minors.
Government: ok now that you gave us the power to censor, we are going to push it a littleeee bit further and censor anything taboo, and media that discusses or even mentions dark topics with nuance, Lolita, 120 days of sodom, all gone! Everything has to be squeaky clean and sanitized!
Government: nice! now, we are going to erase from libraries all nazi books, like Mein Kampf, and any uncomfortable historical documentation about racism, homophobia, sexism etc, because that's problematic, right? we don't want our youth to read those and inform themsel- I MEAN, get influenced, right?
Government: cool! now that we got rid of the "bad nasty stuff", you certainly won't mind if we also erase, you know... the other stuff we don't like and that we find uncomfortable, no matter the fact it doesn't hurt anybody, right? that also influences our young impressionable, sensitive kids, right?

Government: oh you know, just, all the gay stuff. everything LGBTQ+, everything queer, everything not 100% vanilla that doesn't promote the traditional values, and the sole existence of blood on screen and kissing and the representation of marginalized groups-
Government: uh?? i thought YOU were the ones who wanted to "bring back Hays Code" and not see any sex or "problematic" stuff on screen!
