Just a girl in the world

🦁🌞 Persian Agott!!! Out of all the girls, I feel like I resemble Agott the most and have such a soft spot for her. So in the effort to not wait for representation and to do it myself, I decided to design what she'd look like!

For anyone curious about the details of it all, Agott is specifically inspired by the Qajar era (Cone sleeves, Pearls, Aigrette, Belt, etc), her kid librarian outfit we see in the manga and anime, Qifrey and Olruggios outfits and, of course, her original apprentice outfit.

Concept work for a potential thesis film on the story of Namaki 🗝️🚪

Ive been summarizing it to people as Beauty and the Beast but set in Persia where it ends with Namaki defeating the Div and going home!! As just a general explanation, much more to be explored!

Inspired by the Persian myth of Huma and royal stars, a cursed Magi and a conniving young girl race against time to thwart fate 🪶🦁

I received a TON of very sweet messages in my inbox about how much it mattered to people to see Persian/Iranian representation, especially with the huge lack thereof in media.

When I complained about the lack of Persian stories and characters in media to my classmates, friends and professors, many told me the same thing. Why don't you make the representation?

So here I am, trying that out! I wanted to use this story as a way to reconnect with my culture and learn more about its history and stories.

AGHAHJGHAKJHDG this is my dream 😭 I really really want to show the world the beauty of Persian culture!! I think the movies and short films about the tragedies of what happened in Iran are important but it truly feels like thats the only representation we'll ever get which isnt fair when there is so many amazing myths, traditions and folklore that are being overshadowed by politics :( that shouldn't be the case

Hmm honestly I would start with picking an era and def doing extensive research on the culture. Personally, I really love the Qajar looks and they're easy to find because of the popularity of Persian Miniatures!! Second favourite is definitely Safavid, the flow of the outfits are so yummy. Museums are also helpful! Like the Met Museum

Also keep in mind Persia, and even now Iran, is not just desert! Its a very annoying stereotype that West Asia is just covered in desert when that's not the case. By the Caspian sea there's a rainforest, by Tehran there's the Damavand mountain that is the location for a lot of Persian Myths that is covered in snow (though my relatives have said it seems like its all melting, but we're talking historically here!) So yes theres desert in some areas, but they still have (or i guess had now 😭) winters, lush forests and moutains so this definitely affects their outfits esp depending on the region
