“I’m just having trouble with this cell phone once again. I was wondering if you knew what was wrong?”

“Oh right, let me see. What are you having trouble with?”

Right. So not long of a wait then, if you were waiting for something. Why are you here? I mean did you need something?

I just wanted to see if you were still on for tonight. Viv tried texting but you didn't answer so I came to see if you were alright.

"That is such a poetic way to put it versus the whole impulsive buyer thing. I’ll use that from now on. What if there is no tomorrow for me to come back and buy it?" The woman laughed, forgetting about having to pack for a moment. This was why her Grams usually didn’t let her handle the front.

Selene laughed "Yes, that's it I should think."

"Very true, but I’m a terrible dancer." 

"Well you aren't alone there."

Selene? This is a nice surprise. When did you get here?

Yes, it's me. About a few minutes ago I suppose.

Do I look fat in this? I totally do, don’t I? Stop looking at me, god damn it.

You look fine actually.

"Well probably pays better."

"I’m the exact same way with shopping so I feel you."

"I like to think of myself as a just-in-case-of-an-apocalypse buyer."

"Yeah I guess it is, weird right?"

"Huh? Oh sorry, I was muttering to myself. Bad habit."

"Ah, apologies. I thought you were talking to me,"

"Ah - yes, thanks for letting me know! Seems I've been in the habit of dropping things lately."

You wouldn’t be the first or the last person to drop the phone somewhere and completely forget about it, so it’s okay.

"Well thank you for pointing it out to me, I would have hated to have not noticed and left it behind."

"This is a few?" She asked with a laugh as she filled the third bag with the customer’s various findings. 

Selene laughed a little in response "You really don't want to see what I mean, when I mean a lot."

"No trouble at all. What’re you looking at? I can’t guarantee I’ll be much help because all this stuff is my Grams’ area of expertise but I don’t know half the cool things she has hidden in these shelves."

"Oh just a few bits, I need to restock my shelves - running low on a few ingredients and all. My roommate asked me to pick up a few things for her as well."
