Rip my skin open and cradle my heart,

sink your fingers in if you must

listen to it thumping, feel it

feel it before you eat

devour and gnaw and consume it

but here's my plea to you:

careful not to bite into my soul,

swallow me whole but leave my soul just as it is

do not eat it for it is rotten, sick

though I hope you'll cherish and understand it despite the scars

now I've given you myself, flesh and all

and I'm sorry for the mess

now you've got pieces of my skin under your nails

you've got stains of my blood on your hands and face and clothes

Mainly your eyes.

I thought they were black at first before I realized they're dark blue.
