So… I came across THIS petition that is wanting to stop the royal family from using the Prince of Wales title. 

For those of you who don’t know- Wales is a country in its own right in the UK. The Prince of Wales title held by Charles and the royal family members preceding him was once historically given to WELSH native princes. 

Although this happened a long time ago, the title was taken from us by the English royals and so it became a symbol of historical colonisation as, similar to the Irish and Scottish, it represents a time when our native Welsh language and Celtic identity was nearly stripped away from us by force. 

I think it’s quite disrespectful that to this day, this title is passed down exclusively in the English royal family when they have no direct connection to Wales!! Please let’s not continue this tradition!
