OHHHHH I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS FUN ! caviar, although he represents the sea cookies as a whole to the council, still experiences a fair bit of disconnect with how the creme republic has such strict regulations on repressing his identity as a native sea cookie himself. though, it was a lot worse in his younger days, back when he was wearing shirts to cover himself up more, wearing his hair out looser… slowly but surely he’s gaining a firmer sense of sureness regarding his place in the creme republic: it is not there. he spends more and more out of the council… but still, he can’t leave completely, not just yet. who will represent the sea cookies and make sure that the council doesn’t go completely off the rails when treating them with even more injustice? he still believes, in some way, that he acts as a barrier to the worst reality they could live in.
meanwhile, fugu was a stowaway on caviar’s crew, narrowly escaping the harsher treatments of the creme republic to children “like them” roaming the streets. yet, the harsh and rigid beliefs of the republic already came to them, and they still believe in the “good” of the republic, all because they couldn’t stick around to see the truth. slowly, they grow even more sure of their beliefs as they start to question their place in this world, wishing to act in their best interests. it concerns caviar quite a bit.
