who steals french fries off the other’s plate?

I… honestly can’t see EITHER of them doing that.  I can see them politely asking for a French Fry if they wanted one.  I can also see Valjean offering Fantine fries if she looks hungry or has simply run out of her own.  But I can’t see either of them taking without asking.

who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple?

Fantine.  No question.  I don’t think it would occur to Valjean at all.  He’d probably just look bewildered.  XD

who has to bust or bail the other out of jail?

I think that both Valjean and Fantine go pretty far out of their way to stay on the right side of the law these days.  They’ve both been failed by the system before and have no desire to tangle with it again.  HOWEVER, in the face of a threat to Cosette?  Or a grave miscarriage of justice caused by said system?  They’re right in the middle of the fray, side-by-side.  Which is AWESOME… except that they also end up sitting in that overnight jail cell side-by-side and have to call someone else to bail them BOTH out.  ;D

who gives the other advice/comfort about dating issues?

I pretty much headcanon Valjean as ace and often aro/ace and pretty clueless when it comes to romance.  And Fantine… I think that after her experiences, she’s a bit gunshy about sex and romance, too.  So, I don’t really see either of them offering advice to the other.  I see Valjean as the kind of person who doesn’t give their heart or casual affection lightly, and after being in prison for so long, he’s a little starved for positive touch.  Fantine may be more open-hearted, but she’s so afraid of being hurt that she doesn’t reach out to or bond to others as easily as she once did.  So, I could see them both offering all the comfort in the world when one of them was feeling isolated or touch-starved. ^_^

who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes?

Fantine, often assisted by Cosette.  They are both So Shamelessly Obvious at cheating, and Valjean just thinks its adorable, and is honestly happier seeing them win than he would be winning himself, so he plays into it to the hilt.

who immediately calls dibs on the top bunk?

I don’t think either of them call dibs on the top bunk, but I could see them both agreeing that putting Valjean on the bottom bunk makes much more sense.  That way, if he has to get up in the middle of the night, he’s less likely to wake Fantine.

who starts and who wins the pillow fights?

Fantine starts them AND wins them.  She’s full of far more “fight me” than Valjean, and she takes ruthless advantage of the fact that Valjean always pulls his punches, being far too aware of his own size and strength.  So when Fantine starts a pillow fight, Valjean just kind of resigns himself to being pummeled.

who says “your pants would look better on their floor” to the other’s potential crush

Cosette - wait for me from hadestown “New Life” by Thomas Bergersen. It’s a lovely warm orchestral piece and I like focusing on the happier parts of Cosette’s life thank you very much
