MediaTek Helio P22 launched - Smarter, Faster and more Efficient $150 Phones!
Today, May 23rd MediaTek announced the upcoming new phone SoC MediaTek Helio P22 to be officially available! This new SoC will targer $130-170 Phones with best efficiency, Octa-Core design, embded Facial Recognition and PowerVR Graphics! More and more people are looking into cheaper phones as backup or main choice and for the last few years MT6750T has been the dominant chioce. With Snapdragon 450 the old 28nm MTK Octa-Core was finished. Even with the added Adnroid 8.0 Oreo support, MT6750T is just too power-hungry and avoided of still plaguing thermal issues. Mediatek already launched their new enty-level MT6739 Quad-Core with dual 4G VoLTE and PowerVR8100 Graphics with great success. However, that leaves a gap that Helio P23 can’t fill and enters the P22.
MediaTek Helio P22 Specifications
Helio P22 is built using 12nm fabrication process (same as Helio P60) and geatures a Snadpragon 625-esque CPU configuration with 8 x 2.0GHz A53 Cores and “previous” iPhone graphics with a dual-cluster “Rogue” graphics chip 8320 which supports Vulkan and OpenCL 3.2. The new Helio P22 is meant to boost cameras with a stronger ISP and built in Facial Recognitin AI Software. The chip is said to be optimized especially for 18:9, 19:9 and 20:9 aspect ratio resolution. The biggest draw of the chip for me is the efficiency factor. Having 12nm A53 Octa-Core and scalable PowerVR graphics it should in theory match and even exceed SD450 in terms of battery savings. Offering dual 4G with dual VoLTE is another bonus. Read all about the first 1TB phone here. The latest MediaTek SoC is also part of Google’s partnership program, meaning it will come with Android 8.1 and receive at least Android P support. In addition, there will be fast-charging. Helio P22 supports MediaTek Pump Express feature to boost charging times. Theoretically, Helio P22 Antutu score should be slightly lower than Helio P23, probably around the 70,000 Points mark with 900/3600 Geekbench. For me, MediaTek Helio P22 brings a better and more efficient option for people looking at a fast $150 Phone with the latest Android. Nubia Z17 Lite: Truely Bezelless!
When the Nubia Z17 Lite arrived I wasn't too sure about what to expect. It's the first time I had the chance to review a Nubia smartphone. The phone arrived in a simple white-red box with basically nothing on it but the Nubia logo. As soon as you open that box however, it becomes perfectly clear: Nubia is classy. It is a brand that can meassure itself with the likes of Meizu, Xiaomi and Vivo. The accessoires were neatly rolled up and even the firetruck red adapter plug looks classy. And yes, that does mean the Nubia Z17 Lite has no 3.5mm plug and I believe it's about time to just get over that. Now next to all the great packed cables and such, the most important part of the package is ofcourse the phone itself.
Screen and design A lot of manufacturers today like to advertise their devices as being bezel-less. That's a cool marketing trick meaning LESS bezels, but by NO means without bezels. Enter Nubia Z17 Lite: This smartphone is actually bezelless, no bezels just glass, from the right edge to the left edge. And I love it! Even though it still comes in the 16:9 ratio and has normal chin and topbezel, the Z17 Lite is gorgeous. It's not too heavy nor too light and the metal back has a silk like finish too it. The black colour is only interupted by a small and subtile golden band that surrounds the enire phone. On the front right below the beautiful and oleophobic 5.5 inch FHD screen there's a red circular home-button. It gently "breathes" on and off functioning as your notification LED. On the back of the Nubia Z17 there's nothing but the dual camera setup. These are placed in an oval shape. The fingerprint scanner also has a gold edge finish and the red of the homebutton returns around the camera's. Beauty and style are definitely the keywords when it comes to the Nubia Z17 Lite
Software and UI Now turning on the Nubia Z17 Lite is a great experience. The edge-to-edge display and the FHD sharpness are optimally used in the opening sequence. Then the phones boots up in Nubia UI. Comparable with brands like Meizu and Xiaomi, Nubia has designed their own UI on top of Android 7.1. It looks like a cross -over between Apple's iOS and Android as we know it. There's a black golden theme coming back in the entire menu and it looks stylish. There's no app drawer, another thing that I feel we should slowly grow accustomed to. A great thing about the Nubia UI is their use of the edges of the display for gestures. For example, sliding up or down the edge makes you go through your open applications like the pages of a book. Sliding up or down both edges simultaniously adjusts screen brightness and a double tap on the edge functions as a back button if you will. And not only do these functions work smooth and flawless, they also look fantastic from a graphics point-of-view. There's obviously much time, passion and know-how put in making this smartphone. I like it a lot!
Hardware Now one of the things that surprised me most, after using the Nubia Z17 Lite for a couple of days, was the actual fact they named this the Z17 LITE. To be honest, there's not much "LITE" about this device. Let's go through the specs together and see what you think: First of all, the phone has 64GB of internal storage. They coupled this to no less than 6GB of RAM and the Z17 Lite is powered by a Snapdragon 653 processor (4x 1.95 GHz ARM Cortex-A72 + 4x 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 Octa-Core). This results in a phone that can actually handle pretty much anything you throw at it. From media to gaming. Thanks to the Adreno 510 GPU it runs smooth as can be. Sometimes I was really surprised to see how many applications were running while I didn't notice any slowing down nor any dropped frames during gaming. Hard- and software exist in harmony inside the Nubia Z17 Lite. And let me not forget to mention the speakers! The sound quality of the Nubia Z17 Lite is one of the best out there. The volume might not be the loudest, but it's more than decent, but there's actual bass present. The overal depth and warmth of the sound make it even acceptable to listen to music without earphones. Something I can't stand for much longer than one song with other smartphones. All these things get their power from the fast chargeable 3200mAh Li-Polymer battery. Not the largest battery in the world, but it keeps the weight of the phone pleasureable and the energy distribution is fine-tuned really well by Nubia so you can easily reach the end of your day in regular use.
Camera's This is where the fun begins. No let me begin to mention the fact some other reviewers have been calling the camera set-up on the Z17 Lite mediocre, or even nothing spectacular. This raises two important questions to me: 1. Do they even know how to work with an actual camera? and 2. How much did the competition pay them? Joke aside though, if you know how to use the many functions and possibilities the camera software offers you, there's hardly any smartphone is this price range that is remotely ready to compete with the Nubia Z17 Lite. The dual 13 MP camera works with real Depth -in-Field and the colour reprocution, the dynamic range, the sharpness (which is adjustable even after taking the picture) is just mind blowing. Photography has always been a hobby and a passion of mine and the Nubia Z17 Lite made me leave my DSLR camera at home on many occasion. I could go on praising the camera's in tons of fancy words, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I have put together a quick video-review of the Nubia Z17 Lite's camera. So please have a look. At the end of the review I will as usually post some samples as well. Antutu Score The Antutu Benchmark score of the Nubia Z17 Lite is nothing to complain about. See picture
Conclusion It's hard to understand the Lite designation of this smartphone once you started using it as your daily driver. It's great looking, truely bezelless and fluent and fast no matter where you use it for. The 6GB of RAM make multitasking a child's play and the camera get's it right every time. Not to mention the fantastic range of possibilties you can use the camera for. From Slow Motion to Timelapse, 3D Photography, Black and White Macro, or the stunning portrait mode: It's all there!
The Nubia UI makes the phone very interesting to use and the graphics look stunning. Are there no cons? Ofcourse there are some minor things one could consider cons, like for example the fact that the left button under the screen is the back button. It's not adjustable so it took some getting used to. And sometimes newly downloaded apps from the Play Store will only show up after a reboot. The latter being a problem of my ROM version and not of the phone itself. Either way you look at it, the Nubia Z17 Lite is one of the most classy and stylish phones you can get under the 300 euro marker and definitely worth every cent. I rate it 9/10.

Launch of ioutdoor's first high-end rugged smartphone will be postponed
News from ioutdoor News from ioutdoor has reached us recently. It seems the company cares more about quality than they care about deadlines! They informed us the launch of ioutdoor's first high-end rugged smartphone will be postponed. When we reached out to out friends at ioutdoor they explained: "We are very sorry to inform all the ioutdoor fans : The original designated launch date of the #ioutdoorX was 15th May, but because our Android 8.1system GMS authentication is delayed to 14th of June, both the launch date and the date of the giveaway ending, have been changed to 14th of June. We sincerely apologise for this coming inconvenience to you. Anyone that pre-ordered will even get a $40 discount coupon. Thank you again for your support!"
What's actually going on? How refreshing to be informed about what's actually going on. Too many times we have been given silly marketing reasons from brands, like "we need to perform another quality control (after production?)" or "we had to change the packaging". Not ioutdoor though. They tell it like it is. I appreciate this honesty and it gives me even more hope of the ioutdoor X being an awesome rugged phone. And if I have to wait another 3 weeks before launch, to eventually get the phone they WANT it to be... New Helio P23 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM ... Well, I'll gladly wait.
Enough ruggedness to come For those fans of rugged devices and gadgets that don't want to wait: Please keep an eye out on Wiredleaks.com as I'm working on a No.1 F7 Rugged Smartwatch review, I will introduce the first rugged smartphone from VKworld to you soon and there is a Blackview BV9000 on it's way for a full hands-on review and an extended camera review. More to come as soon as we get an update! Or just visit the ioutdoor X website.

First 1TB Phone Smartisan R1 Review
Android phones are killing budget laptops and for a reason! We now have a 1TB Storage Flagship phone and it’s not made by Samsung or Apple but by the visionary smartphone Smartisan and dubbed Smartisan R1 (Revolution One).
The phone features a massive 6.17-inch FHD+ 19:9 IPS Force Touch sensitive Display and is powered by the fastest mobile SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Smartisan R1 Cameras are also upgraded to 12+20MP Sony IMX363 with OIS+EIS to deliver better photo and video quality. Probably not up to par with Pixel 2 and S9 but clearly a match for the previous generation S8 and Pixel XL.
Performance won’t be an issue with R1, wheter it’s browsing, gaming or social media. The Snapdragon 845 can handle anything you throw at it with ease.
You can clearlytell benchmarks paint a strong device that can compete with any phone on the market for performance.
Performance and design aside what makes Smartisan devices unique is their software. This year the big upgrade from 4.2 to Smartiasn OS 6.0 brings improvements to an already established an unique user experience. With heavy inspirations from MacOS, not iOS this software skin boasts features like Idea Pill, Big Band and Voice Assistant and it’s been improved with Android Oreo behind it.
All in all Smartisan R1 makes a compelling case especialy with the 1TB Storage and 8GB RAM variant which will set you back a massive $1400 but there is always the standard 6+64GB Version costing just $599. The R1 might not be the best option here in the west since most of the features are ment to work in Chinese but anyone who’s looking for a different experience will revel in joy with Smartisan R1.
The R1 also comes in Pure White. Smartisan R1 Final Thoughts I personally, still use my Smartisan Nut Pro 2 with Snapdragon 660 and am very pleased overall with it’s performance, battery life and how thoughtful and different Smartisan OS is. The phone for me cements Smartisan as the up-and-coming exotic tech to buy, but the R1 is not as revolutionary as I hoped in terms of design but rather Software and Presentation.

OnePlus 6 finally gives Fans a Reason to UPGRADE!
Another year another OnePlus or is it? The successor to OnePlus 5T is finally learning how to get things done and for the first time since OnePlus 3T, OnePlus fans have a real reason to upgrade. Let me break down the OnePlus 6 Release today and why it was worth the wait as I share my thoughts on OnePlus 6 Specifications, cameras and price. OnePlus 6 Specifications - New Snapdragon and Antutu Record
More and more people buy phones for their Antutu benchmark scores and OnePlus 6 is a real crowd pleaser there. Offering the best result on the market (but it’s highely likely the chip was overclocked during those tests) and leading Snapdragon 845 Octa Core with UFS2.1 Storage and 6-8GB RAM Configuration available. Battery life for OnePlus 6 will remain good but I think a little more than 3300mAh was needed for the largest OnePlus display ever. That’s right OnePlus 6 comes with a gigantic 6.28-inched 19:9 2280 x 1080 Optic AMOLED panel and yes, a NOTCH! Naturally, OnePlus kept the headphone jack and USB-C. OnePlus say their phone is Everyday waterproof but fail to disclose a rating which is baffling to say the least and leaves a lot of room for interpretations. Your OP6 will definitely not stop working in the rain or if you drop it in a puddle, but I doubt it will work after 10 minutes under the shower, so don’t try it.
OnePlus 6 Cameras - OIS IS FINALLY BACK!
The biggest change in comparison with OP5 and OP5T comes in the camera department but only one of the sensors has changed from OP5T. You still have the 16+20MP Configuration, but the primary 16MP sensor has been change to Sony IMX519 and once again after a long absence features OIS+EIS and that is a serious boost! The second sensor is still Sony IMX376 and the front camera is still the Sony IMX371 from OP5 and 5T, so no upgrades in the Selfie department. Overall, you should expect less noise and more stable videos with the new OIS-enabled IMX519, but again OnePlus 6 Cameras are not even up to par with Samsung S8, let alone S9 or Mate 10 in terms of photo quality. OnePlus 6 Price - As Lucrative as ever!
The cheapest OnePlus 6 price is $529 for the 6+64GB version while the 8+128GB will retail for $659 which still a great price for a phone we know will remain fast over time. You can pre-order OnePlus 6 8+256GB model for $799 right now. Read the full article
The Nokia X6 will be available for the Chinese public as early as May 21th
After months of rumours and speculation Nokia blew the lid, and the Nokia X6 became fact! The Chinese Mother HMD Global showed the smartphone today. According to HMD the Nokia X6 will be available for the Chinese public as early as May 21th! It looks like the Nokia X6 joins the trend of iPhone-like designs with a notch. Just like the recently launched Honor 10 and the awaited OnePlus 6. And eventhough it's no secret I am not a fan of the notch: I think the design of the Nokia X6 looks good. From the back it's unmistakenly a Nokia, the stretched oval-shape that houses the camera and the flash look familiar. In the case of the Nokia X6 there is a dual camera set-up.
One thing's for certain, compared to the many rugged devices I've seen lately, the Nokia definitely is NOT a rugged phone. In fact, the Nokia X6 is made out of 95% glass! That's quite a lot. Thus it is anything but advisable to drop this phone. On the other hand, more people choose phones made out of glass these days and seem to be fine with it. My OCD would probably get the better of me, as it's probably a fingerprint magnet. But that is a minor drawback considering what the Nokia X6 has to offer for it's price. So, let's walk through the specifications of this smartphone so you will get my point. For starters, the Nokia X6 comes with an 5.85 inch, 19:9 ratio screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2280p. which translates in FHD+. Like mentioned before the back is glass (Gorilla Glass 3). It carries two camera sensors: a 16 MP (f/2.0, 1.0µm, giro-EIS) and a 5 MP (f/2.2, 1.2µm). So on paper at least, this should be able to produce some decent pictures.
Now for the part that's under the hood of this new Nokia X6. It sports a Snapdragon 636 processor and it's available in several variations. There is a 4GB and a 6GB RAM model and there's also an option to choose between 32 or 64 GB of internal storage. So nothing spectacular there, but plenty for every day use. The GPU comes from the Adreno 509 chipset so that should be smooth enough. the X6 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a 3060mAh battery. What I noticed is the lack of NFC and 4K video recording that was available on the Nokia 6. Its also not one of the thinnest devices out there with its 8.6 mm thickness. But considering the glass it might be a good thing since you have more grip that way. Now, let's go to one of the most positive features of this smartphone: the price. The Nokia X6 will available from prices as low as $ 204.- for the 4GB/32 GB model. Considering it's camera's, the SD636 processor and the trendy notch design that;s a very good price. Okay, let me say something positive ont the Nokia X6's notch. The reason why I think it's less annoying than on other phones is that it's smaller than on the Oukitel U18 or the Leagoo S9, and even smaller than on the iPhone X. But, to each his own, there seems to be a market for it, whether I like it or not(ch) ;)

Nubia Z18 First Pictures and AnTuTu Benchmark Score
Not very long after launching the Nubia Z18 Mini, it seems their latest Flagship is just around the Corner. Since we've seen the Z17, I think it's a pretty safe guess that the device's name will be Z18. Lately not only a picture of the first completely bezelless smartphone has leaked. Wouldn't it be a disgrace to our site's name not to share this picture with you? ;) Well, no worries. We will! Right after this! Of course it's great to have an idea of how the new Nubia will look like. However as a tech reviewer I'm at least equally interested in what makes the phone tick. And is there a more lovely way to get a first impression than say.. a Nubia Z18 AnTuTu Benchmark Score? Even though it might be healthy to take the latter with a grain of salt. A small edit to another benchmark score is easy and we have seen faking benchmark results before. However judging from the quality of the Nubia Z17 Lite I'm using as a daily driver right this very moment, I don't have any reason to doubt. If I'm anything: gobsmacked would be the proper word here. Why? Well I have this bezelless, 6GB RAM, dual camera flagship in my hand the folks at Nubia call a "Lite" version... I can only wonder what that implies for the Z18. Wow! Since Wow! isn't the best description on a techzine blog, I promise you to upload the hands-on review and the camera review of the Z17 Lite in the near future. All I want to say about it now: It's one of last years best phones. Now back to the AnTuTu Score of the upcoming Nubia Z18. It is rumoured to be equipped with Snapdragon's latest SD845 chip and a whopping 8GB of RAM. Now when we take in account the other SD845 powered devices that are on the market, looking at their AnTuTu score, it makes sense. If Nubia managed to optimize their software to the hardware & added 2 GB of RAM extra the score will be much in the range the picture depicts. For comparison I added a screenshot of the Samsung S9+ AnTuTu Score.
Nubia Z18 AnTuTu Score
Samsung Galaxy S9+ AnTuTu Score So looking at these scores on thing's for sure, the Nubia Z18 is going to be one superfast phone if these specs are correct. And it's going to be innovative as well, since it will have rounded bezels without borders around the entire phone. And like I promised in the beginning we have a leaked picture to give you an impression. If there's any more news on the Nubia Z18 we will of course let you know.

Why (I think) the Meizu 15 Plus is the perfect cheap flagship
It was a long wait filled with wild speculation but the latest Meizu Trinity is a fact. Availabilty is not huge so there is a certain amount of patience needed to obtain the lastest flagship of Meizu. But hey, at least they took the time and the effort to create something original. Nothing is what one would expect of a 2018 flagship. And funny enough that's exactly what I expected from Meizu. In this article I want to take you over some of those features. Let me explain why I think the Meizu 15 Plus is the perfect cheap flagship. No to the Notch What? They actually dared to build a flagship without the notch? All jokes aside, it's really worth noticing that Meizu is one of the very few companies that actually was able to create full screen phones without making holes in your screens! Just look at the gorgeous Meizu E3 or the Meizu M6S. But the Meizu 15 took a different road all together. So no notch and no 18:9 screen ratio on the Meizu 15. The standard for photography and video 4:3 and 16:9 have been kept in tact to ensure optimal usage of the screen. And to deliver pictures that are nice to watch on any device after. And I'm pretty certain most photography buffs and shutter bugs much like myself appreciate that choice. I for one do.
But that's not all another thing that has returned is the physical home button. Again, even though Meizu has experimented with an on-screen mBack button (and very succesfully too!) they have chosen a physical home button. Considering the Meizu 15 Plus is an anniversary model, a physical mBack button just had to be present. And even though nay-sayers and Apple fanboys went bonkers because Meizu has chosen a round shaped home button I think it looks gorgeous. Besides the fact that Apple has not trademarked circles (yet). And it is in harmony with the frontcamera that's also placed in the middle of the upper bezel. The middle. I can't help to think thats the most logical place to put it. Design-wise it just makes a lot of sense, Okay, maybe the innovation of the Meizu 15 is in keeping it real, keeping it practical rather than being "out there".
Specs Then, let's talk about specs. I was shocked to see reviewers complaining about the chipset. I even read some one saying: You're buying a Samsung S8 in a different body. Wait a minute... Are we talking about that same S8 that was hailed to be a fanstastic device with a great processor just a couple of weeks ago? The Meizu 15 Plus does indeed come with the fast and powerful Samsung Exynos 8895 Processor also found in Samsungs S8 series. I think that's to prefer over a Meditek chipset any day. So I fail to see the point.
You get a Super AMOLED screen, a 20 & 12 Megapixel rear camera with 3x optical zoom and a f/1.9 aperture and a 20MP(!!!) front camera with a f/2.0 aperture. And not to forget 6GB of RAM and (optional) 64 or 128GB internal storage. All in a premium built device, running on the fresh Flyme 7 OS. Maybe the price tag is slightly on the high side, but having reviewed many Meizu devices I can guarantee you it will be worth it. If you want to save some pennies and aren't in a hurry I suggest to wait for the price drop that will probably occur by the time the Meizu 16 will be lauching this summer.

On top of that, Sharp also throw IP68 Rating, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, Android 8.0 Oreo and 3130mAh Battery. Price is yet to be announced but we know Sharp R2 is coming soon after Japan has first helpings that is and in 5 lovely colours to boot. This phone won’t be cheap but for all the tech inside it’s got to be worth it!
Wanting and expecting more from top of the line devices is always relevant and Sharp have cemented their status as innovation masters. Samsung and Apple may sell well but they hardly innovate their flagship phones like Japan's best Electronics manufacturer. By the looks of things, Sharp AQUOS R2 smartphone has it all - cameras, display and performance in spares. Perhaps the smaller battery might put some people off. I beleive Sharp R2 battery life will be sufficient for a single day + of heavy usage thanks to the very efficient Snapdragon 845 inside and Google's Android 8.0 Oreo. The ioutdoor X pre-sale starts May 15th, 2018 (IP68)
I have written about the upcoming ioutdoor X Rugged smartphone before. We are happy to inform you that this great looking new rugged device is up for grabs soon! The Chinese outdoor and rugged electronics manufacturer has whispered in our ear that the ioutdoor X pre-sale starts May 15th, 2018.
Let's revisit the device to emphasize as to why I think this is a smartphone to look out for. Like we said before this is a 5.7 inch 18:9 screen, something we don't see on IP68 rated rugged phones every day. But this very 2018 screen is not the only perk on this beast. I think the Helio P23 octacore processor coupled with 6GB of RAM are very promising too. Even though it's possible to use a microSD card in the ioutdoor X, I think you won't need one soon. Considering the phone comes with 128GB internal storage. And will it be another bulky brick of a phone? It doesn't look like it! The ioutdoor X is only a little over 10 millimeter thin!
That's making the ioutdoor X the thinnest 5.7 inch rugged phone in the world! And if that's not unique enough, the makers of this phone have another trick up their sleeve (if the specs on paper correspond with the actual device). The camera on this water- dust- and shockproof smartphone promises to be quite something too.
According to our friends at ioutdoor there's a dual camera set up on the rear with a 16 and an 8 megapixel sensor. The main sensor should come with a f/1.8 aperture. Needless to say that should produce awesome (underwater) footage, regardless what you should be pointing your camera at. We are looking forward to put this beast to the test for you. But for now it definitely looks as if this will be THE device to get you through any summerday on the beach. If you can't wait for end of May you can always visit the official site of ioutdoor.

Cubot has announced their latest device: The Cubot P20.
They say immitation is the highest form of flattery. Many devices looking like the Samsung Galaxy Series or the Apple iPhone have been around quiet a while. But this time it seems even Huawei is "being flattered". Cubot has announced their latest device: The Cubot P20. Yes, you've read that right. Blatantly copying the Huawei P20's design obviously didn't suffice. The newest Cubot does not only have the same camera placement and round design but it also has ... you might have guessed it... a notch.
Yes people, it seems we needed another "top-notch" phone in the Android budget segment. Ofcourse the device is meant to counter other budget devices with iPhone X-carbon-copy design. Well then, let's look at the specifications of the Cubot P20. One would expect, they had enough time to make something really interesting of that. Especially considering the fact designing the phone couln't have taken them long. So, especially with all sorts of new chipsets on the market, it was somewhat of a disapointment to find out the Cubot P20 sports the old MT6750-T octa core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage is 64GB (expandable to 128GB through a microSD card). The rear-camera is a dual camera set up (probably with a software generated blur effect they called "bokeh" to keep the illusion alive). On paper it says to be a 20MP & 12MP sensor set, but realisticly speaking I think its an interpollated 16MP. Now, I won't write anything about the second sensor, since over 80% of budget devices that I've reviewed over the last year, had non specified and even completely non-functional second camera's. Please don't get me wrong. I am not saying the second sensor on the Cubot P20 is fake. I'm just saying I won't credit it as a real dual camera before I have actually tested it. So looking over the specifications I noticed something.
Basically the Cubot P20 has the same specifications as the Cubot X18 Plus, the only difference being the screen. The X18 Plus comes with an 18:9 ratio, 5.99 inch screen WITHOUT a notch. The Cubot P20 however sports a 19:9 ratio 6.18 inch screen (which is not a standarized format for ANY photo or video out there). So if I understand it correctly: The Cubot P20 is like 20 to 30 euro more expensive than the X18. And what do we get for that extra money? Well, they cut out a piece of your display!
An actual pic of the Cubot P20, courtesy of Gizchina To end on a more positive note: The Cubot P20 will run Android Oreo out of the box and will probably have a good autonomy considering the 4000mAh battery we find in the device. It's expected to cost around 160 euro's which is ofcourse a far far way from the 950 to 1000 euro the Huawei P20 Pro costs. But I'm afraid the same can be said about the performance... If you don't want to wait for a decent budget device, or you simple don't appreciate manufacturers making holes in your screen, you can always opt for the Cubot X18 Plus. A very decent smartphone for its price and notch-free!

Meizu 15 Quick Hands On Video and official pictures
Since some days the newest Meizu flagship the Meizu 15, together with the Meizu 15 Plus have launched. A third model known as M15 has also seen the light of day. The latter being a little toned down budget friendly version. It has the same interesting and stunning looks like the two more luxurious editions. So to introduce the new Meizu 15 family and Flyme 7 to you Meizu made a video. Let's look at Meizu's very own Nika telling us more about the three gorgeous devices in the first Meizu 15 quick hands on video. All three devices have a beautiful edge to edge display. And I love the way Meizu has not released one single device with a dreadful notch this year! The screen is a 16:9 ratio and definitely aims for modern design elements combined with classical timeless beauty. There's a phyiscal home button, and the cheapest model sports "only" one rear camera instead of two. Keep in mind Meizu camera's are way above average in quality and you won't believe the crisp pictures they produce. Even their Meizu M6S budget class device is equipped with a camera that just makes amazing photo's. I will leave you with some photo's of the Meizu 15. I will get into the specifications once I have something to tell about them ;) Ofcourse you can always find them on Meizus official site too.
