 “Do you realize how green your eyes are?    That isn't natural.” 

  The way Jane can see it, she's one of two Winter Soldier agents. The other is a man, and she doesn't know his name. She doesn't need to know his name, because it's the least important thing to know. She knows he's her equal. He has the same arm bearing the same star, the same title. He's the Winter Soldier, just as she is. He can't be anything other than her exact replica, with only the biological sex keeping them from being perfect copies.

  Day in, day out, they train; they train and they're taught what they need to know, what is important and vital to their very existence. It's rare that they speak, so rare in fact, that she doesn't know if he really knows how to talk. She doesn't know if she herself knows.

  But in the great scheme of things, in the scheme of the life that they lead, nothing like that matters. It doesn't matter as they are pulled out of reserve and prepared for battle. Jane is dressed to kill, her cybernetic arm proudly displayed. Lined up along with her counterpart, they are told their mission. It's time to take out yet another of SHIELD's parties, and who better than the two of them to do it?

 A silence forms for a stretch of time, the steady thrum of their carrier vehicle the only sound. Her gaze slides over to him, and in a rare form of feeling like breaking the pre-mission silence, she smiles, but it's gone in a blink.

               “Are you scared? After all, this is a big mission.                                                   You could get hurt.”

"Please, you don't have to do this."

"Why me? Why do you have to do this to me?"

"Stop struggling."

"Go ahead, I like it when they try to fight."

"No, no, no. You're not allowed to pass out yet. We haven't even gotten to the real fun, yet."

"Just let me go and I won't tell anyone, I promise."

"Do you want me to tell you what I'm going to do to you?"

"I don't understand why you're doing this."

"I'll do whatever you say, but please just let me go."

"You won’t break me!"

"You were foolish to think you could escape me. Now you've only made it worse for yourself."

"Kill me. Please, just kill me."

"Oh, stop crying. Don't make me gag you."

"Are you going to cooperate now, or do you need more convincing?"

"Have mercy!"

"If I get out of this I'll kill you."

"Hurt me all you want, I won't give in!"

"I’m not afraid of you."

"I would say this is going to hurt me more than its going to hurt you, but that would be a lie."
