Still moved by yesterday and can't believe how quickly he shook off whatever lack of confidence and/or anything that was bothering him the past matches that made him be so cautious with the forehand. It was like he reached a flow state, so into it, was playing so naturally as if he never stopped this year.
And I'll never get over the fact of how good he is and how his game is so outside the curve for these days and someone his size. You look at him and you expect a lefty bashing flat balls left and right and there he is doing his thing. Getting every ball back, picking them off the floor and being able to create so much spin like how? My favorite part of watching him play is looking at the opponents faces when he hits the ball so clear off the net with such arch that they all think it's gonna go out. Then it passes them and it suddenly dips, hits the corner, hits a line, it's perfect and it's in...you look at them and they're gagged. We're gagged. Everyone is like 🤯 ok Rafael Nadal. And I feel like not a lot of people leave other players stunned by their tennis like that.
Yesterday felt so much like that and it was beautiful. I'm so proud 🩷 I (we 🫂) missed it so damn much! The way he fired up the crowd in that point gave me goosebumps and I was giggling at my phone like a dork.
I had to let it out...we're doing it day by day, counting every blessing and yesterday was one 🩷 I asked only for the grass season to let him be happy and trust his body and play...today we have that! Let it keep being like that, he deserves it. Just keep going!
Wimbledon...as Andrey Rublev would say "We'll see what's gonna happen" 🍀 but like seriously...Taylor? 🧘🏻♀️ the one time I wouldn't mind they rigged a draw.
