On August 19,2013, the Philippines was severely hit by torrential downpour from typhoon "Maring." The rains lasted nearly three days, but the damages are yet to be undone. In light of this calamity, Future Faces Manila decided to cancel Heartistry this year and instead shift its focus to helping those in need after the turmoil of Maring. 400 bags of relief aid were donated, Vice Mayor Tina Diaz selected families who were specifically in need of such help. Future Faces Manila spent a total of 39,206 pesos on relief efforts while 120,000 pesos were donated towards relief aid.
