The Worcestershire white is an ancient breed hailing from the UK. Originally a utility breed, the modern white is bred almost entirely as a display and show animal. Their gentle natures make them popular hobby farm pets.
The Berenstain is a great all-rounder breed. Docile enough to lead in hand and strong enough to work as a beast of burden, this versatile breed also produces a rich buttery milk and a well marbled meat. This specimen shows the belt marking that is trademark to the breed.
The dwarf hollicer is a popular pet and competetive show unicorn. The smallest of all unicorn breeds, it is a true dwarf and can be prone to deformity because of it, so breedings must be carefully selected. When not shown docked, this breed boasts an adorable corkscrew tail.
The Australian chaser was an endangered breed, one that took a steep hit when unicorn racing was banned in its homeland. This spirited and colorful animal lives on in the show circuit and the flashy coat has made it very popular, although athletic and difficult to contain. The chaser may be shown polled (horn removed) but must have at least 2 inches of visible horn to be considered eligible for show.
The silky is by far one of the more popular breeds in show. Its coat should be soft and sleek with a natural shine with a texture similar to clean human hair. In fact, the silky at one time was utilized by wig makers!
The underland curly may be cute, but it's tough coat make it a hardy animal that can handle all manner of cold and wet. There exists a flat coat version of the breed that is still considered a curly- the "curly" refers to the shape of the horn, not the coat.
The Gatlinberg is a newer breed but one that has quickly outpaced other production breeds in popularity for its high heat tolerance. These animals largely live semi feral lives on poor scrub pasture unsuited to other livestock, and are primarily raised for meat, though there is a dedicated fancy for them. Because most of these unicorns are meant for market, they are allowed to be shown gelded and branded, unlike other breeds, which must remain intact for show.
