It always annoys me when Sam, who benefited from Dean putting himself between John and him their whole damn lives, either teases or scolds Dean for the patterns of behavior he developed to cope with John’s treatment of him and with the issues Dean has with always trying to put Sam’s life first (”take care of Sammy, Dean”). Yeah, Sam was a kid for some of it, but he’s an adult now and can try to think through their childhood. He loves Dean but he doesn’t really see him. He recognizes that Dean made sacrifices for him, but doesn’t seem interested in thinking through the scale of those sacrifices. Sam is smart enough to figure things out. We the viewers did and we haven’t spent as much time with Dean as Sam has (sniff). Obviously this frustrates me about how Sam is written, especially because it’s something I’ve seen too often in real life. Dean deserved better.

but wait my bad sam is a straight up horrible Straight Cishet Evil Brother for making a couple of jokes (and one of them was when sam was Literally soulless) but dean is just a poor closeted lil bisexual baby “doing the “no homo” thing” whenever he made sam the butt of jokes about femininity and/or being gay
