I'm Vista, Xe/It/He. No I'm not the youtuber, no I'm not affiliated with Microsoft. I'm an adult at least. god, as much as sometimes I actually sort of like windows (usually vista, I loathe 10.) this thing is a wild and unknowable beast like with linux sure you can just find some forum post for the problem you have
but windows, oh no, anything you find for your issue probably won't work, and if turning it off and turning it back on again doesn't work? good luck, you gotta get creative. like how I found out I need to restart a program critical to the system's function literally whenever my taskbar messes up (which is frequent enough for me to have a shortcut on my desktop) and just restart explorer.exe (almost if not the whole desktop environment) yay one issue and I gotta hit the exit out of critical process button and reopen the program thing on my desktop and it just fixes itself
by the way if anyone has issues with their task bar on windows?
paste this into a shortcut and click on it :
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c taskkill /f /im explorer.exe & start explorer.exe
trust me, it helps I can tell you exactly what the whole thing does, too, if you dont just want to paste in something random to solve an issue "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" opens the command prompt, "/c" gives it the argument for a new command, "taskkill /f /im explorer.exe" kills your desktop environment with /f being forcefully and /im just means it targets any programs named explorer.exe. and start explorer.exe just reloads it.

Just (ram-wise) exploded my computer from trying to make a web extension for myself
I made the mistake of making it try to update every frame of having my browser open on tumblr.com and my machine froze completely at like 0.002 fps, i could barely if any even move my mouse around the screen
I've achieved the effect of almost basically forkbombing myself without a forkbomb
Another open question to Linux tumblr- or I guess codeblr in this case: What text editor do you use?
