Mingu for Highcut !!
@amylovessvt.tumblr.com I'm gonna post this here as well just in case you ignore my ask. :) Hello, just wanted to let you know that I'm not saying this to attack you, but in terms of drawing/art, there is literally no way of matching a person's actual skin tone, especially with idols, since they mostly wear makeup, their photos are retouched, and even when we do see them 'bare faced', we still have various elements to consider like lighting, etc. And when it comes to art, artists follow/use a color palette, and their art style might not even be based on reality. I'd also like to personally ask, why would it be wrong to visualize idols to be darker skinned? Our skin tones change all the time? We get a tan when we go to the beach, or stay under the sun for too long. I don't understand what's so wrong about being darker? White washing is bad because it's forcing idols to adhere to toxic (and inherently racist) beauty standards, but drawing idols with darker skin is hurting literally no one. The thought that it is somehow harmful to visualize them with darker skin is a problem in itself. // there's literally nothing wrong with this particular drawing. It's perfectly harmless and adorable. It's just funny to me how this user's on a 'rant' about how an artist perceives another person's skin color. It's nOt THAT DEEP!!!
