Percy’s quest for blue food colouring Pt. 1

(Btw when it’s all caps that’s because it’s lines that are actually from EPIC (I just realized that I missed some lines that were supposed to be all caps but I’m too lazy to edit it))

All around him all Odysseus heard was screaming, some calling for him, others calling for their mothers and some praying to the gods… but he was frozen.

He watched the mesmerizing water horses damage his ship once more.

“OURSELVES”

He saw Poseidon flipping his majestic hair but couldn’t move, he felt as if he was watching from outside of his own body.

“AND NOW IT IS FINALLY TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TODAY YOU DIE…”

His eyes clouded over.

“Unless of corse you apologize for my son’s pain and all his cries…”

He finally snapped out of it.

He offered his most diplomatic smile, but his face started to fall after seeing Poseidon smirk.

“THE LINE BETWEEN NAÏVETY AND HOPEFULNESS IS ALMOST INVISIBLE”

“SO CLOSE YOUR HEART, THE WORLD IS DARK AND RUTHLESSNESS IS-” “Dad, we’re out of blue food colouring”

A black haired boy appeared standing on the waves, his strange clothes flapping in the wind (The dye for his orange shirt must have cost a fortune!).

“Percy can you just go ask Triton, I’m-”

“I’m telling mom-”

Here’s the thing about being a warrior of the mind, you’re always one step ahead, and very rarely confused… Odysseus was neither of those things as he watched the strange display.

“By the way, why in Zeus’s name do you look like that?”

“Like what?”

“Like a slu-”

Poseidon’s scream reminded Odyessus of the current circumstances, if he didn’t do something soon him and his crew are going to die…

“What? It’s the truth, like I can kind of understand what mom saw in you right now.”

Good thing this kid was giving him plenty of time to think of a plan.

“Sigh You know what? I’ll finish up here, then I’ll get you your food colouring… okay?”

“Thanks dad!”

Too bad Odysseus had already found the inspiration for his plan.

“ALL I GOTTA DO IS OPEN THIS BAG!”

His fleet sped off, leaving Poseidon and the strange boy in the distance.

“REMEMBER ME”

“Can we go get my food colouring now?”

Odysseus was sure that that was going to be the last he saw of that kid…

They had given him some strange blue concoction that apparently had moly in it… WHY WAS IT BLUE!?!?!?

Hermes suddenly looked guilty, the dancing and music stopped.

“Percy there are so many more rules in the new world-”

“Why are you helping your grandson here so much? What about all your kids back at camp? What about Lu-”

Don’t get him wrong, Odyessus was intrigued by this conversation… But, he was also kind of in a rush.

You know… cause his men were pigs.

The two blinked at each other then the kid looked at him.

This time rather then Percy another child jump scared Odysseus...

A depressed looking child dressed in all black materialized in front of Odysseus.

"My boyfriend and I are trying to have a date and you're being super loud"

"Oh sorry, I just found out that my mom died while I was away and I'm processing."

To be honest the shock from seeing his mother was the only thing keeping Odysseus composed and from going completely insane after yet another child materialized from thin air.

The kid's eyes softened slightly.

"Oh, I get it man... I lost my mom and my sister... Hey look I know that everyone processes differently but if you could process without that really loud guitar it would really be great."

“Oh, no problem... Sorry for interrupting your date."

The kid grinned and thanked him before disappearing once more.

Odysseus had the guitars turned down and continued belting his grief quieter.
