Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
when I was in high school, I overheard two older students talking about a friend of theirs.
One of them said something like, "it doesn't bother me that [Friend] was in residential mental health treatment, I just wish they wouldn't talk about it ALL the time".
The other replied, "Well, that was all of last year for them. So when they say 'when I was in treatment,' it's like when you say 'last year'."
I try to remember that any time someone says something that sounds Shocking to me. sometimes one person's scary special crisis is another person's last year.

Casual Geographic - he's on youtube and tiktok and makes 10-20 minute videos explaining animal facts, you might know him from his stuff on tiktok in like- 2021 or 2022 i wanna say, in which he got popular for making a video about how honey badgers are honestly really scary. i've been a fan of his since he was a small creator but he's pretty popular now i think. i like to listen to his videos while i draw.
BlackForager - she makes youtube shorts talking about foraging and has a series called "one is poison and one is a snack" where she shows two similar looking plants and you have to guess which one is edible and which one is poisonous. She also makes cooking videos/recipes for said edible plants!! Her recipes are vegan friendly too if you're into that.
Kittydog - they make furry animations and animation memes about their original species, kittydogs, and also hyperpop music!! so if you like hyperpop and are looking to support more Black creators (cause ik it can be a kinda white dominated genre) i would very much recommend them!! they were involved in some drama as a teen so that might come up if you search for them but honestly out of all the animation meme youtubers involved in that drama in the 2010s they are honestly the only one to put a whole lot of effort into getting better and improving as a person, and most of that was several years ago now (they were like 13-16 at the time and i believe they are currently 21). i uh. may or may not have several kittydog (the furry species) ocs.....
