You waltz into the kitchen with a yawn, ready to drink enough coffee to keep you awake for several days. Last night was a late night and you barely slept, but you decided to wake up early anyway so you could catch Steve coming in from his morning run. You find him leaning against the kitchen counter, sipping from the mug in his hand as he stares out the window, deep in thought. He looks a little tired and sweaty from his run, but he looks so fucking good for a man who probably just ran ten miles or more. His tight shirt is clinging to his muscles and his shorts grip his ass very nicely, so of course you need to let him know.

“Well, if it isn’t my favorite super soldier,” you greet him with a bright smile as you pour yourself a cup of coffee.

Steve smiles back at you. “Good morning, Y/N.”

He nearly chokes on his coffee, trying to think of a response. “Well, I…I uh-”

“I guess so,” Steve laughs nervously, knowing your words aren’t as innocent as they seem. He does look hot this morning, but you’re not going to just straight up tell him that. To you, that’s one of the times Steve is at his sexiest, other than when he’s Captain America and telling you what to do. “Morning, Capsicle,” Tony announces, skipping into the kitchen. “Morning kid,” he says, ruffling your hair.

“Good morning, Tony,” Steve responds. His eyes wander to the bathroom. “I’m gonna go take a shower.”

“Thanks for letting us know,” Tony snickers, rolling his eyes.

Steve starts to saunter off but you step in front of his path in the hallway. You’re close to him, very close to him, and he can’t help but blush at the lack of space between your bodies. You run a hand teasingly down his bicep. “Mind if I join you?” you ask seductively, testing the limits of how much Steve can take.

“What?” he chuckles nervously, not used to such words from you or any other woman for that matter. Women were never too straightforward back in his time, and even now no one was making much of an effort to fuck him. It didn’t matter anyway, as Steve only has eyes for you.

“Did you have to ruin that for me?” you huff, crossing your arms as you stand before Tony.

“I didn’t ruin anything,” he retorts. “Rogers won’t make a move on you if you talk like that. He gets anxious around you anyway, but when you say things like that, it just makes things worse.”

“Are you saying you don’t think he likes me?” you mumble. “I mean, I’ve never been certain but I get the feeling that-”

“Y/N,” he interrupts. “He’s crazy about you, I know that for a fact. But when you’re too flirty he doesn’t know what to do so he gets all flustered and freezes up. You gotta take it slow with him.”

You let out a loud groan. “I refuse to take it slow anymore!” you whine. “He hasn’t made a move on me after I’ve so obviously flirted with him for years!”

“Just give Spangles a little more time,” he asserts. “I promise he’ll come around.”

Later that night, you’re tossing and turning in your bed, thinking about Tony’s words. You’ve given Steve plenty of time to ask you out and yet he’s done nothing. You’ve convinced yourself he’ll never come around. After a while you simply resorted to being flirty and straightforward with your comments, making him blush. You love when he blushes, but if he is just going to stand there and act flustered without actually telling you how he feels, then what’s the point? He should have made a move by now, and the fact that he hasn’t must be telling you something. You can’t take this bullshit anymore. You need to know the truth.

Taking a deep breath, you make an insane decision and retreat from your room. As you slowly descend down the hallway toward Steve’s room, you realize how idiotic your decision is. If he already doesn’t like how forward you’re being, then why would telling him exactly how you feel make things any better? You’re unaware of the answer, but at least if he rejects you then you’ll know for sure that you need to give up.

As you distractedly wander the halls, you bump right into Steve. He stands in front of you in nothing but his boxers. You feel like you’re about to pass out, and you can’t help but let your eyes linger on his chiseled muscles. How the fuck is this man so perfect?

“Steve?”

He furrows his eyebrows in confusion. “Y/N?” he asks. “Is everything all right?”

“Y/N,” Steve interrupts. “I know.”

You could listen to that adorable laugh all damn day. “Not that you don’t make it obvious enough, I heard you talking with Tony earlier. I know how you feel about me,” he discloses. “And I…I feel the same way. I’m sorry I couldn’t tel you before, it’s just that you’re so brave when it comes to these things while I…well you see how I get. I was actually on my way to your room now to tell you everything.”

You smile, taking a step closer to him. He’s ready to walk backwards out of habit, but right now he feels perfect right where he is. You wrap your hands around his neck and he takes that as sign to place his hands on your waist. His hands shake against your hips, causing you to giggle at his innocence. “Steve, for the record, I think it’s really hot when you blush and get all flustered.”

“You do?” He raises his eyebrows in shock. “I just thought I was being awkward.”

You shake your head with a shrug. “I’m into that I guess,” you admit. Realizing a way to return to your usual antics, you smirk proudly. “See, I have this theory, that you totally want me. You want me bad.”

Again, a heat rises to Steve’s cheeks as he blushes like mad. He exhales loudly, bringing his beautiful blue eyes to meet yours. “I do want you. I want you…bad.”

i don’t know what to tell you. i’m angry. i’m frustrated. i’m disappointed. i feel like i’m screaming into the void. “a reblog does nothing” - you know that’s a damn lie, you know exposure always helps, you know people start paying attention when posts on social media become popular. my country in particular is a small one, we get ZERO exposure. y’all are only starting to figure out we even fucking exist bc of the shit we’ve been winning lately.
