Bomboloni are the most mouth wateringly, delicious, sugary rounds of heaven. Seriously. They are eaten for breakfast, snack (merenda) or dessert (dolce) in Italy and I am so happy to call this country my new home because of that!

These are small ones, "piccolo" ones full of chocolate and the other full of squidgy custard. Not custard like in the UK, it's thicker and there is a delicately light lemon flavour. I can't work out if the lemon flavour is from the drippingly tasty filling or the airy pastry.

But I will continue to research this.

It may take many, many bites of bomboloni's before we know for sure.

I have always enjoyed photography. Photos of my family, past and present. Images of the places I've visited or want to visit. To remember people, places and moments. This is how I've chosen to share our new journey.

Through a lens.

I will post photos of Maremma, the region of Tuscany in Italy that my family and I now reside in. Hopefully showcasing all the beautiful things we see and discover. When I visit Edinburgh, I will also post here what I rediscover from returning to my home city. In fact anything and everything really as I learn new skills with cameras I have had for a long time, but never committed to using properly.

I have three cameras which I will be using; iPhone 14 Pro Max , Canon DSLR and a Canon Olympus film camera. I have no idea how to truly use these, yet.

But I will.
