you may have heard things like "pro-consentual abuse" or "pro-consentual contact" and you may think to yourself "what is consent?"

consent means, in its barest form, "To give assent, as to the proposal of another; agree: synonym: assent." but we all know here that consent is a lot more nuanced than just that.

so, what is consent?

consent is an unambiguous, affirmative, and conscious decision by each person to engage in mutually agreed-upon sexual (or otherwise) activity. it has been agreed apon in this community that beings can consent to things like abuse, cnc, or other things people typically do not associate with consent.

"but where does consent stop and nonconsentually abuse begin?"

consent stops and nonconsentually abuse begins when a being can not safeword during cnc scenes, can not say no to certain abuse, or generally stops liking the dynamic and the other being doesnt stop.

when a being stops consenting, no matter if its mid scene or you think its ridiculous, stop. stop the scene, or the dynamic, and ask them "why did you stop consenting." while its not their duty to tell you why, it can help you further understand or help the previous dynamic being again with minor changes.

if you believe you are being nonconsentually abused, and the being your being nonconsentually abused by has not stopped despite you saying your not consenting anymore? leave them. if its online, block them. if its in real life, find resources in your area and use them.

you do not need to stay with them. even if you agreed to the abuse at first then realized you didnt like it later. while yes communicating with the other being may help in the future, you do not owe it to them.

"but moon," you may ask "what about two beings who both like nonconsentual abuse?"

two beings can like nonconsentual abuse and be in a relationship with each other. that is their business and, as long as they both agreed to the nonconsentual abuse in the beginning of the relationship, they have every right to stay with each other.

"but moon," you might ask again "what about beings that typically cant consent?"

there will be beings that you believe cant consent while others do believe they can consent. it's not your job to call them out, doxx, harass, or otherwise witch hunt the person for their beliefs.

if you are asking my stance on the matter, i am pro-consentual contact with everything. you do not need dead beings consent, their dead. minors over the age of 14 that understand consent, can consent. animals who initiate contact, are consenting. as for romantic contact with all paraphillas? i am under the same belief. animals and minors over the age of 14 can consent to romantic interactions with paraphiles. dead beings dont need consent, their dead.

"but what does pro-consentual contact mean?"

pro-consentual contact (or p-cc as often referred to) can mean many things among many different beings. mostly it means the being believes that certain beings (animals, dead beings, minors, etc etc) can in fact consent, and that paraphiles should be able to interact with those beings as long as consent is given by both parties.

"what about pro-consentual abuse?"

pro-consentual abuse refers to the belief that a being can consent to abuse before it happens. this is mostly used by trans/cis/tris harmed and/or harmfuls in their dynamtics together.
