Summer Phandom Games Signups!
Are you a member of the Phandom with more free time this summer than you know what to do with? Do you want to make friends, complete challenges, and have fun? Then the Phandom Games is the summer event for you! All you have to do to join the fun is fill out this Google Form and reblog this post!
What are the Phandom Games?
The Phandom Games are a couple week long set of challenges designed to be completed by teams. Players are placed into teams with people all over the world to compete against each other for the chance to win the games! The entire competition is completely online and completely free.
What kind of challenges are there?
Well, there are ten unique types of challenges to be completed each round.
Phanart: You will be provided a Dan and Phil-themed art prompt, and your team’s best artists will be set loose to create the best art they can.
Phanfic: The gamemakers will release a Dan and Phil-themed writing prompt, and your team’s skilled authors can let their imaginations loose and flow metaphorical pen across metaphorical paper.
Edit/Collage: Everyone has their different fortes in the phandom. Some write, some make art, and some make edits. This is the role for your team’s editmakers; there will be different editing challenges to suit everyone’s skills.
Hunt: The hunt is the most intense challenge in the games. At the beginning of each round, clues are released for teams to go on a wild goose chase for the information the gamemakers have sent them out for. It’s a race for the finish line, as only the first three teams to finish get points.
Design: Design can be very similar to editing, but also quite different. The world of design opens up to crafting something out of real materials in real life, but also allows for leeway to simply create a masterpiece online. How creative can you get?
Video: Do you live on YouTube, watching your favorite content creators? Try turning the tables and creating a video yourself! The gamemakers will provide a simple prompt to follow, and you can make it your own on camera!
Truth or Dare: Your team’s wildest, bravest souls take on the gamemakers’ craziest ideas of what a few phandom members can do. A few less on the side of thrill seeking can answer a few truthful questions to pick up a couple points.
Fan Experience: How have Dan and Phil trashed your life? Let us know what being in this phandom is like based off our prompts/questions.
Fandoms Collide: In this challenge, you can through Dan and Phil into the universe of another show, movie, or anything else that could possibly have a fandom. When two fandoms collide, anything can happen.
Replay: We bring back favorite challenges from past games for you to play again!
How does it work?
There will be 3 rounds with one of each challenge type (10 challenges per round). We will start with 10 teams and eliminate two teams with the lowest score after each round. The last four teams will compete in the final challenge. After the final challenge is completed, the winning team will be announced and those team members will have the opportunity to be game makers for the next games.
When is it?
Teams will be eliminated as the rounds go on, so not all players will be around the entire time, but the games themselves will last from July 22nd to August 3rd.
If you’re interested, sign up with the link at the top of this post quick! There are only 250 spots, and once they’re gone they’re gone! There will be signups for backup players, but nobody wants to be the understudy; if you want to join the Phandom Games, sign up now. Signups will only run a month (June 7-July 7) so make sure to get it done!
