Today is the 10 year anniversary of the first time I saw twenty one pilots live. It’s been such a thrill to be on this journey with them for a decade, watching the story grow and evolve through their music and live shows. No matter the city, being at a show always feels like home ❤️

Inspired by the words of Tally and the visuals of City Walls… I haven’t made art in a long time, but this idea popped in my head and I had to get it down on paper.

The City Walls video really is the perfect ending to this story. Clancy spends all this time running from Nico / his insecurities, but in the end he has to turn, and face it head on. There’s a look of resignation and weariness as all the different versions of Clancy slow to a stop, which is then replaced with a look of determination and strength as they turn. Clancy finally defeats Nico, only to take his place as a Bishop of Dema. And yet… “if we become them, we must do better”. I have hope that Bishop Clancy will do better than Nico, and I believe that Torchbearer will never give up on Clancy, no matter how many times the cycle repeats.

I’ll save the sappy post for 10 years, but the anniversary did have me reminiscing over memories of that era and the creativity that it sparked in me. This is my favourite piece that I made all the way back in 2019 🌼
