please pray for my friend, for her husband who was ordained to priesthood last week, and for her grandmother who passed today

the quote in Russian reads: "the feeling that God is standing in front of me and telling me: "For all this happiness, for kindness, for everything – what can you give Me? No one living on earth has received as much as you have. Have you buried your talents in the ground or multiplied them?" And I will have to answer: "I will start working, I am so grateful for everything."

i think what bothers me about a lot of "girl power" narratives is that they function on the implicit idea on the idea that women can become worthy of respect. and i happen to think that really caring about women means believing they already are worthy of respect. that historical seamstresses and soccer moms and forgotten sisters and sweet polite little girls and someone's weird grandma matter just as much as the warriors and politicians, even if they, personally, never accomplish anything "cool."

You don't need to want to have babies to be a decent person when you're talking about babies. These aren't a dog breed you can freely and comically despise, they are tiny vulnerable human beings. Even if the next sentence out of your mouth is "well, I hate kids BUT-" no. You need to get that vocabulary out of yourself. I'm not saying you're doing anything worse, but the words are already despicable.

I think part of being alive is just continuously praying thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
