-Grace befriending SCPs and becoming (sometimes reluctantly) well-liked due to his friendly demeanor, and also because he treats everyone with human decency and tries to improve everyone's quality of life. Other scientists think he's goofy but like his passion, and some of the SCPs are just glad to be treated like people. He refuses to use numbers if the SCP has a name.

-Grace being a top researcher, responsible for literally so many scientific discoveries, papers upon papers written by this man. If there's a mystery, he's trying to solve it. His budget is astronomically high compared to his teaching salary but this man will use duct tape and cardboard still. He justifies it by saying that if he can build it with inexpensive materials, the rest of the budget can be shifted to containment procedures. Ethically, he's squeaky clean. Psychologically, everyone around him is taking psychic damage every time he so much as breathes.

-Still capable of being serious, sassy, and even downright rude, but he saves it for when he sees/hears people being disrespectful. Still a teacher wherever and whenever possible, helping train the new recruits, filming somewhat ominous videos (bill-nye the science guy style) to post for young minds to learn from, even though he's pretty much full-time invested in the Foundation. I think he definitely got brought on because of his paper, still, though. Like, he gets disgraced from academia, he moves on to teaching, and then he gets approached by an organization hell-bent on saving the world from anomalies they're barely containing, and they approach this man who has a reputation for "believing in impossible things with very little evidence and somehow pulling out things that actually almost sound credible". Like, oh, you go with the flow? You don't dismiss ideas just because they sound nonsensical? You can defend them when asked? Congrats, we're kidnapping you to be our lab rat (you do get to say goodbye, though, just make it quick).

-Comes in as a small-time researcher, and ends up solving so many problems that people in higher levels are like, "can we have him?". Gets passed around the Foundation as a solution to so many different problems, keeps getting clearance for insane experiments. This man has been promoted so many times that he doesn't register he's moved up a level beyond the SCPs getting progressively more ridiculous. Eventually, he has his own office and dedicated research group and after the second or third time being called "O-5" says, "I prefer Dr. Grace, actually, I don't need a new title! Thank you, though!" And the guy across from him- who literally just got the memo from the O-5 that this guy is a tertiary part of the council- blinks, thinks, yeah, that's Dr. Grace for you, and then continues on like nothing happened. Yeah, he's honorary O-5 but he doesn't care enough about the title to become one. He's Accidentally Important at Work TM.

This does not stop him from being reckless enough to give multiple people heart attacks.

-Constantly coordinating with people to work together. He wants all the doctors around him to be his equals, regardless of current status. If he likes you, you are at risk of being promoted. If you are an SCP with relevant knowledge to his research, he will sit down to interview you, but it's going to feel less like the interview you thought it would be and more like a conversation. You are part of the team now, and he will be back with more snacks and more questions. Best believe there are SCPs who quickly make an exception during breaches because he takes one look at them and just sighs with disappointment but doesn't stop them (both because he knows he can't, and because he's had the existential crisis of wondering if he'd be any different if he were stuck in here).

If the rest of the O-5 is immortal, then so is Grace, so it's useless to kill him (no, he doesn't know he's immortal. Of course he hasn't noticed, he just thinks he's aging pretty well). If they aren't, then he has a higher chance of surviving absolutely insane shit, more than any other member of the council.

-If Astrophage still exists, the Foundation are absolutely breathing a sigh of relief that at least the sun is being eaten and not melting people and then get straight to work. Eva Stratt coordinates with them when she realizes she's looking for the same man they have, and she has the governmental influence to stride in through the doors, only to find the Ryland Grace she's looking for treating a bunch of junior researchers like students he loves the company of and them running around like bats out of hell to get golden stickers for jobs well done. And she's like, yeah, this is the guy.

-If Grace is sent up into space, it's probably willingly. The Foundation has space technology, he knows he's more likely to come back then die. If he meets Rocky, even BETTER. He is best friends with this rock alien that he absolutely is bringing to Erid instead of back to Earth because 1. Rocky needs to save his planet and it's just better if Grace gets him there so the Taumoeba can't eat his Astrophage, and 2. The Foundation would absolutely trap and study this little guy, so nope, no way. He does come back to Earth after, but he is totally keeping in contact with Erid. It is his one act of slight treason against the Foundation, but that's his bestie right there!

(The Foundation keeps the world relatively stable during the crisis, and I think the time to travel would be less with more advanced tech and SCP help, so it isn't for long. The Foundation definitely keeps a supply of Astrophage, though, because that's their...failsafe.)
